As Gen Sec and CEO of the Royal College of Nursing, I spent many days in the company of our brilliant internationally educated nurses. Their commitment, dedication and personal sacrifice for our NHS is unquantifiable. Many of these nurses told me about leaving young families, elderly parents and even spouses behind in their parent country in order to look after our patients. Now they are being intimidated, burnt out of their homes and asked for professional ID at blockades when on their way to work.
