Looks like Ontario will remove lockdowns on Jan 31 (nearly a week later than planned) & replace them with 50% capacity restrictions for restaurants, gyms, recreation. I sure hope the rumour that restrictions will remain until March is incorrect. toronto.ctvnews.ca/ontario-to-gra…

@franocavar NO judgment to this gym at all -- this is what they've been forced to do to provide for their members. BUT this is the gym version of a coat hanger in an alley. Let us reopen so we can train people SAFELY. Enough is enough.

The latest on rapid tests: We’re getting 140 million of them this month alone. And because they’re an important tool in our fight against COVID-19, we’ll be getting hundreds of millions more over the next several months to distribute to the provinces and territories.

@CFIB I personally enjoy when they say good news is coming for small business, but say later in the same breath but not yet for gyms and restaurants! Consistently crapped on throughout the pandemic!

The only reason to tease that "good news is coming" without sharing the good news is to test the Ontario public reaction on ending lockdowns. This should not be what drives decisions on pandemic restrictions.

We should be much more worried about population collapse

The only reason the health system hasn’t completely collapsed is because of the professionalism & sacrifices of health workers who are continuing to work even while short staffed. Even during #OnStorm, health workers are holding the health system together. Not the government.

Modelling off of positivity and tests completed puts today’s case count at 27,500. Expect an Rt above 1 tomorrow. This indicates growth - NOT a plateau.
