Right to repair, the biggest scam since duty free. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, preventing owners from making their own repairs. Owners are limited by their own knowledge and expertise, period, end of story. Two out of every three parts sold by a dealer are over the counter to customers making their own repairs. Not exactly the monopoly the R2R crowd would have you believe. That’s why R2R advocates have have failed miserably to get legislation that covers heavy equipment, passed anywhere in the United States. Frankly, the R2R lobbyists are an impressive collection of uninformed and unprepared misfits. What they really want is right to modify the proprietary code that affects horsepower, emissions and safety functions. There is not a compelling argument to legislate this given the risks and what Deere and others have already done to address customer concerns. Shawn, you’re giving voice to far left radicals that don’t know the difference between a tractor and a combine, do better.
