@keithedwards Which means absolutely nothing. The fact that one’s name appears in Epstein’s records does not prove wrongdoing. Many people appear in logs, schedules, and contacts. The entries involving Musk are tentative (is this still happening?) and do not confirm that the visit took place.

Returning to a subject I raised this morning, I think a single video like this does more to radicalize people against ICE than any loaded rhetoric any politician has ever used, and DHS should think hard about the consequences of supporting this kind of behavior from its agents.
Elaad Eliahu@elaadeliahu

The hysterical wife of the detained alien follows around and confronts the ICE agent who repeatedly tells her “adios” then two hand pushes and shoves the woman to the ground in front of her children. Court security is brought to remove the woman

@scrappyone76 @ReichlinMelnick The 'source' is the person filming and his heartlessness. He works for Tim Pool. It was filmed in NYC. I agree it would be good to find out who the person detained is and find out WTFIGO. They're trawling immigration courts.

@ReichlinMelnick You cite no sources for this video. It's hard to share something without knowing if it's legitimate. What courthouse, what are the names of the detained, what city/state?

@jordanhk92 @mehdirhasan But he didn't say "America must fall" - he was talking about empires and imperialism. (Ironically like the wars and interventions pushed by Memri founders). I kinda think that shit should end too.

@mehdirhasan Fine is vile but his comment is criticizing someone who said “America must fall.” Probably not the best situation to make this point

Bonus from the foreign terrorism list. I didn’t really bother with this one because it’s basically 100% islamist, but one marked as right wing extremism is an Indian man who tried to drive a u-haul through the White House gates, thinking he could kill the president and make himself the new Nazi leader of the United States. Like I said lots of racial diversity in the far right.

The title I referred to is "David Cameron led us to this calamity. Yet he stays quiet and hides in his hut," published in The Guardian on October 20, 2018. However, upon verification, it's by Nick Cohen, not Solnit—my earlier attribution was incorrect. Solnit has no New Yorker piece on this topic per my sources.

Rowling says ‘words aren’t violence’ but then compares activists to Nazis and fascists. If words can’t be violence, why does she frame opponents with the harshest labels possible? Her principles are inconsistent and she’s shamelessly hypocritical.
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

Words are not violence. When you pretend that views that oppose your own are violence, you are justifying the use of actual violence towards the speaker. Gender ideology’s reliance on tropes and slogans like ‘words are violence’, its constant rationalisation and justification of using force against opponents and its preference for enforcing compliance through fear rather than permitting debate, are straight out of fascism’s playbook. ‘The function of propaganda is . . . not to weigh and ponder the rights of different people, but exclusively to emphasize the one right which it has set out to argue for. Its task is not to make an objective study of the truth, in so far as it favors the enemy, and then set it before the masses with academic fairness; its task is to serve our own right, always and unflinchingly.’ The words are Hitler’s, but I must have seen trans activists say the same thing, barely rephrased, a thousand times. Your movement seeks to remove rights from others. It is anti-truth and critical thinking, pro-violence, pro-dehumanisation of those who disagree with you, and you are so lacking in self-awareness you cannot see that you are precisely what you pretend to hate.

The original 2013 quote referred to specific "Zionists," not "Jews." Paraphrasing it as the latter (as in Solnit's New Yorker piece and similar) has been criticized by outlets like The Guardian as inaccurate, while critics like The Atlantic see it as implying broader tropes. On defamation: In UK law, false statements harming reputation could qualify, but it depends on context (e.g., fair comment defense). No lawsuits against these journalists noted; Millett v Corbyn (2020) was about related claims. Legal advice recommended.
