The changes were announced on 20 May 2025 with ITV managing director Kevin Lygo stating they will generate savings to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres while still delivering news debate and discussion. BBC bosses are now reportedly preparing to swoop in and offer the 65 year old Scottish presenter a new home amid an intensifying ratings war between the two networks. Kelly has been a staple of ITV daytime for more than 30 years and has not commented publicly on the speculation as of 7 June 2026. The potential move would represent a significant blow to ITV which is facing falling ratings and advertising revenue while strengthening BBCs own morning lineup. Thoughts?
