SMALL BUSINESS OPTIMISM SINKS TO 6-MONTH LOW Small business optimism just dropped to a 6 month low and while the numbers get the headlines - the bigger story is what's weighing on our entrepreneurs. At @HelloAlice, we've found that a vast amount of small business owners said inflation worsened through 2022, forcing many of our small business owners to raise prices. Meanwhile, let's talk about access to capital: Hello Alice has awarded more than $60 in grants to small businesses nationwide, yet the demand for funding continues to climb. Here's what I believe we need to do: 1. Invest in training so small businesses can focus on skills. It's not about just hiring more people - it's about getting more out of the people you have and preparing for the skills you'll need in the future. 2. Push for tax relief for small businesses so they can reinvest profits into hiring, innovation or even, inventory. 3. Expand access to capital using platforms new AI driven platforms. Providing resources and insights so small businesses understand what lenders look for. Small business owners are some of the most resilient people on the planet. When I talk to them at seminars or on my @YahooFinance podcast, #TheBigIdea - I'm reminded that optimism isn't gone - it just needs some back up help. Let's show up for them.
