Today we’re announcing $1 billion in new funds to back the bold founders shaping the next era of finance and technology. I’ve been following the flow of assets my entire career and have never seen a more dynamic time. Financial infrastructure is being rebuilt from the ground up, new assets and markets are emerging, and an agentic economy is developing as AI agents begin to transact on behalf of humans. These areas, among others, are what will define the coming years as we deploy these new funds. We’re excited for what’s ahead, and wrote about our thesis in the post below.

I don't believe this is the right strategy for PayPal. Alex Chriss was right to fully integrate Venmo with $PYPL. I still feel for the guy — he was the right leader to turn the company around, but he came in too late.

CNBC: PayPal $PYPL is separating Venmo into a standalone business unit under new CEO Enrique Lores, a move that could make the app easier to track or potentially sell. The reorg comes as takeover interest has circled PayPal, with Venmo seen as its most valuable asset.

$PYPL One of the things that former CEO Alex Chriss did was integrate the siloed aspects of PayPal's business into a whole unit. This was necessary. PayPal had failed to digest and accelerate past acquisitions, to the extent that Pay With Venmo competed directly with branded paypal (at a lower take rate). The only way this move makes sense is selling Venmo, which is easier to do as an independent business unit, which is what I am expecting this indicates.

Excited to share @PayPal's support of @Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) as the next phase of our expanded partnership announced last fall. This is a milestone moment making agentic commerce a reality for consumers. Let's go @sundarpichai! 🚀

Balancing what works today with what's coming tomorrow is one of the hardest challenges at scale. The innovator's dilemma shouldn't slow you down, it’s a call to build. To rebuild payments for the next decade, we need new rails. Stablecoins are a key part of that future, and we're integrating $PYUSD across @PayPal to deliver more speed, flexibility and global reach.

“One of the challenges when you are at a certain scale and you’ve been around for a while is the very classic innovator’s dilemma,” Alex Chriss, the president and CEO of PayPal, told Fortune. trib.al/G3egl9l

PayPal and @Venmo showed up for our consumers and merchants during Cyber Week - Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday - this year! Our team worked hard to help merchants win every sale and made it easy and rewarding for consumers to check out in-store and online. For the first time ever, consumers could check out directly inside of an agentic chat with @PayPal on @perplexity_ai. Here are some highlights from Cyber Week:

We reported our third quarter results this morning. @PayPal delivered another strong quarter with broad-based profitable growth across branded experiences, @Venmo, and PSP. We also announced a new partnership with @OpenAI to expand payments and commerce in ChatGPT. PayPal is a fundamentally stronger company today than we were two years ago. We returned the company to growth and are on pace for 6 to 7 percent transaction margin dollar growth, excluding interest on customer balances, in 2025. Here are some highlights 👇 🔵U.S. branded experiences (online and offline) volume accelerated to 10%, more than double our growth a year ago 🔵Venmo revenue was up more than 20% and TPV grew 14% 🔵Added 2 million first-time PayPal and Venmo debit card users in the U.S. 🔵Buy Now, Pay Later volume grew more than 20% 🔵Payment Service Provider (PSP) volume returned to healthy, profitable growth at 6% 🔵 We are also building for an agentic future, partnering with leaders such as @Google, @OpenAI, and @perplexity_ai Given this strong momentum, we are raising our full year 2025 guidance for transaction margin dollars and earnings per share. We're also excited to announce that we are initiating a dividend, which demonstrates our ability to invest in growth and return capital to shareholders. Thank you to the hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers who trust PayPal every day, to our developers and partners, and to the PayPal team for your hard work and dedication. We are exceptionally well-positioned to win into the future. 💪 payp.al/3Q25

PayPal is bringing payments and commerce to ChatGPT.  Soon, hundreds of millions of people who use @ChatGPTapp and @PayPal will be able to  checkout in just a few taps. And the tens of millions of businesses that rely on PayPal will soon have a path to make products be discoverable and purchasable directly within ChatGPT with no new integrations needed. The next era of digital commerce is here, and PayPal is leading the way. 🚀 @sama @OpenAI
