The systems that enabled the individual to sell 100 million copies of that software were built on exploitation, so while the individual hasn't done anything unethical, it is a system problem not an individual billionaire problem. This is like toddler level socialist theory my guy
Grant Slatton@GrantSlatton

what do the "no such thing as ethical billionaires" people say about an individual who codes a great app that sells 100 million copies for $10 each who was exploited? zero marginal cost goods are weird

Basically immediately because under socialist/communist theory the concept of a bosses "profits" are secured only by paying their workers less than the value they produced. You could delete boss and profit, then lower prices and have cheaper burgers for everyone
Carl@HistoryBoomer

You start a burger joint: Boomer Burgers. You hire 10 people to run it, and it makes money. Ok? You branch out and build 2 more joints. You make more money. You keep building new BBs. Dozens. Hundreds. Thousands. At what point does the money you're making become "unearned"?

@IMXunderground @blkprofcct Exactly. Because we aren’t a pure democracy and were never meant to be a system where 51% of people could take away the rights of the other 49%.

@PramilaJayapal Please clearly detail what you mean when you use the word “healthcare” I think that’s the first step to identifying realistic services that can be provided. Otherwise, you’ll never get anywhere

Health care is a human right. Not a privilege. Not a benefit you earn at a job that could disappear tomorrow. Not something you ration because you're afraid of the bill. A right. I've been fighting for Medicare for All because I've seen what happens when people can't afford to see a doctor. They wait. They get sicker. Some of them don't make it. We are the wealthiest country in the history of the world. We can do this. We just need the political will to fight for it. That's what we're building. Together. 💜

Tennessee has 3rd world life expectancy, war zone like violent crime rates, and its infant mortality rate rivals the poorest countries in the world. No, Tennessee is nothing like Massachusetts.

@GarbageGangHQ Non-users paying for someone else’s goods and services is what socialism is. In this case, the corporation is the beneficiary, but it’s still a socialist structure.

It’s sad that in 2026 we still pay all teachers on the same pay scale regardless of class composition or effectiveness of the teacher, with a few rare exceptions. In almost every industry, the best performers earn more. We need to figure this out for teachers.

@BrianAtlas @MattWalshBlog A separate panel of 7 or 9 judges should be comprised of retired judges in each state should decide all death penalty sentences. The regular trial judge/jury can only sentence someone to face this separate panel, they will weigh the evidence and level of guilt before sentencing.

Perhaps this individual deserves to die. However, innocent people have been put to death via the death penalty. While false imprisonment is still unjust, an innocent can hopefully be exonerated and later freed. You can’t undo a killing. You can later free an innocent person. Thus it should be outlawed so as to protect the innocent. Life in prison to the truly guilty of heinous crimes is the compromise and balance of macro level justice.

I am challenging any death penalty opponent — there are millions of them, allegedly — to step up to the plate right now and explain why this guy should not be executed. His guilt is established beyond any doubt whatsoever. His crime is utterly savage and heinous. Tell us why he doesn’t deserve to die. Go ahead.

@PeterSchiff @SenSanders Let’s be real here though. Amazon has put 10s of thousands of people out of business, so he can’t take some sort of victory lap. People have always been employed in some fashion. Better jobs should be the metric

@SenSanders Yes, but Bezos employs over 1.5 million people at Amazon. That’s a lot of jobs he created, even after some layoffs. How many jobs have you created? For all the value Bezos has provided his customers and employees, he deserves a yacht. What value have you provided to anyone?

The reality of American life today: Jeff Bezos, worth $290 billion, spent: $10 million on the Met Gala $120 million on a penthouse $500 million on a yacht Meanwhile, he‘s planning to throw 600,000 Amazon workers out on the streets and replace them with robots. Unacceptable.

@AmanitaFugax We’ve built plenty, these people still exist, they just moved outside of the city limits. In fact, people relocating probably necessitated more building than if they had stayed.
