@ReichlinMelnick The moderate position is strict enforcement at the border and not tolerating any illegal immigration. Immigration needs to be through legal means and it's not unreasonable to have expectations about assimilation and ability to contribute

This stuff is basically indistinguishable from nativist propaganda 100-150 years ago against the Irish, the Italians, and the Chinese. And history should remind us that there were massacres and pogroms of Chinese immigrants in the 1880s fuels by some of this rhetoric.

@ed_haywood This is a false equivalence. Harris was a reasonable alternative; not someone I'd agree with on policy most of the time, but not a menace, not a friend to seditionists, not a sociopath who tried to execute a coup. Any normal politician was a better choice than Trump.

We could argue that Trump 1 was a one-off, a freak occurrence. But electing him *twice*? Raises reasonable questions about what kind of electorate would do that.
