@HackneyYIMBY They will probably rationalize that changes can be made without affecting moth club core practice; quiet in the smoking area, dont queue so long infront of the venue, stay open 2am not 3am etc. But its death by a thousand *needless needles (*in the sense that it can be avoided)

@HackneyYIMBY Theres nothing wrong with the sentiment; im sure they want both residents and club to be happy, and new developer to front the trade off. In practice im sceptical -> and if we assume a dispute will occur, council almost always sides with residents and quiet over night club

Apparently another application has been submitted for the adjacent site. (The Moth Club has launched a petition opposing the proposals which already has almost 5,500 signatures!)

@HackneyYIMBY All for house building, but part of what makes a sucessful urbanism is nightlife and amenities; Imo - You can be yimby, and even like the look of the build, while also acknowledging that in current london climate moth club is right to be worried about bein compromised

@NSftbl It is objectively a bit of a shame to miss beating them in the NLD twice a year moving forward; thats a fun fixture for us and without it the season might feel a bit empty. BUUUUT the fun before that new season kicks off will surely make up for it. as would having a parade
