Would be a cracking signing. He’s a quality player, reads the game well, is very strong and is good with his passing. One of a few reasons why we struggle so much to deal with Newcastle and their physicality in midfield. Only 2 years left on his Newcastle contract too!

City’s schedule is now not going to be anywhere near as chaotic. City have the choice to play Palace home game earlier in April. Could have the choice to play Burnley away (same date as FA Cup semi-final SHOULD City beat Liverpool) before the scheduled date of April 26th too

@OptaFootball Got to be aiming for progress this season. Small progress made in the UCL. Out in the playoff last season, top 8 this season but out in last 16. Got to aiming for latter stages next season. Would be nice to get the Carabao and/or FA Cup! PL… well, that’s now very difficult

Khusanov fantastic tonight. Should be first defender on the team sheet! Doku & Cherki also created a good amount tonight too. They are my positives. 3-0 last week killed us. Our schedule is now clear & much less ruthless. We have got to start turning up if we want to win trophies

More than enough chances to have overturned that aggregate score in the first half. Again, City not clinical. Bernardo red card now makes this difficult tasks that much more difficult. Suspect City will change the shape second half to try and stop the Madrid threat on the counter

I think end of the day we simply have to accept that we just are not good enough to win the Premier League this season. Lacked real quality in attacking positions tonight. Lacked the clinical edge in front of goal to score. Scored a fluke and conceded to the only shot on target.
