This is exactly correct and stands especially for @PAFC too. Some NGAs and F/S are forecast 4-5 years out. We didn’t draft last year and made significant decisions previous based on simple access to some young up and coming players. To do this in such short notice is wrong.

@cdesilva23 By giving an end of first round pick to clubs in the bottom 5 they are further compromising the draft and massively incentivising talking.

I wonder why they didn’t bring these rules in earlier, given everyone was talking about the 2025 draft being the most compromised ever at least a year out from it. Makes no sense for that to happen and then to bring it in for drafts that aren’t as compromised.

@FootyonNine @CalTwomey If a club then exceeds that limitation (making it applicable to first round selections only) an added level of restrictions apply, such as limit on the number of picks clubs can use to match.

@FootyonNine @CalTwomey Changes should be made with minimum 3 years notice, to align with future pick trading. A more reasonable outcome would be dump the discount, put the premium in place for top clubs and have a limit on the number of bids a club can match over a rolling 3 year period.

@FootyonNine @CalTwomey This also massively incentivises tanking, if you are out of finals contention and sitting between 12-10th, the incentive to drop down the ladder into the bottom 5 is massive because you’re given an end of first round priority pick to if there an NGA/PS pick in the top 5
