I cant believe there aren't more people talking about this. If Melissa keeps the track and intensity it is spewing, Whitehouse and Montego Bay will be leveled and devastated. Along with other parts of Jamaica. #prayforjamaica #hurricanemelissa
Matthew Cappucci@MatthewCappucci

The National Hurricane Center is now explicitly forecasting the first-ever Category 4 hurricane strike in Jamaica. The POTENTIAL exists for a scale of devastation, both economic and humanitarian, that hasn't been witnessed before in Jamaica in the modern era. Consider the impact Hurricane Maria had on Puerto Rico in 2017. NHC predicts Melissa will hit Jamaica at similar strength. But despite having a comparable population, Jamaica has less than 20% the GDP. In other words, inveterate poverty will hinder rebuilding and prolong suffering – assuming a high-end scenario is realized. Imagine being hit by a Category 4 hurricane, but then remember that the average Jamaican household has on the order of 10-15 percent the wealth of a U.S.-based counterpart. In 1988, Hurricane Gilbert hit Jamaica as a 125 mph Category 3. 49 people died, 100,000 homes were damaged, and the banana crop was largely destroyed. On Friday, the National Hurricane Center adjusted its concern of concern and now explicitly predicts a Category 4 Hurricane Melissa to slam the island early next week. What does a Category 4 hurricane look like? Let's discuss the anatomy of a hurricane. First, you'll get a beautiful sunset the night before. That's thanks to high, wispy cirrus clouds fanning away from the storm at the upper levels – the "exhaust". They'll catch the sun, and perhaps make little sun haloes/rainbow circles during the day. That's the calm before the storm. Then we'll get squalls working ashore. At first, only isolated to widely-scattered. They'll last a few minutes each, but the wind will be calm. The squalls will have big rain drops. As the storm nears, you'll notice a light breeze. Winds will begin to stir. With each rain band, the winds will become a bit more squally and blustery. Palm trees will begin to sway, but the winds won't be damaging. The storm will be "breathing" air in. A few of the squalls might contain brief funnel clouds or tornadoes. As the inner bands near, the winds won't be bad yet. The raindrops will become littler, but there will be more of them – you'll start seeing gusts of 35 to 45 mph. Flooding will begin. Only one you're nearing the eye (about 25-30 miles away) will the winds reach hurricane force. They'll quickly build from there. The winds will build until they can't be ignored. Rainfall rates of 4+ inches per hour will be common. Debris will begin to fly. But then there will be a lull. That will be the "moat," or some sinking air outside the eyewall. Then the eyewall will hit. Imagine being in a washing machine. You'll have near whiteout conditions due to extreme rain – along with winds of 100 to 130 mph. Even stronger gusts are possible. Trees will fall, roofs will fly, and tornado-like conditions will onset. At the coast, the eyewall will push water inland, potentially raising the ocean to the height of a second-story balcony. You NEED to take this seriously if you live in Jamaica. Everyone will see different hazards – some will get the inland flooding, some will get the coastal surge, some will get the eyewall winds, and some may experience a combination. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. Our team at @MyRadarWX will be with you every step of the way.

Let me explain please, in very simple terms, why the precise orbit of 3I/ATLAS seems so SUSPICIOUS? If an alien civilization sent a very-fast, large rock directly toward Earth, we would try to blow it up using rocket-transported nuclear weapons (100's of them). Yet if they sent a very-fast, large-rock just past Mars, to the opposite side of our Sun, we would not be able to do anything, even make fly-by photographs. Furthermore, if they sent a very-fast, large-rock to the opposite side of our Sun, in a direction OPPOSITE to Earth's orbit around the Sun, yet in the same 2-D plane, then they would just have to "brake" that large rock (or any associated spacecraft) to HALF of its (their) incoming speed, to meet planet Earth HEAD-ON in 3 months, with no further use of fuel. Thus if we do see a large, alien spacecraft headed our way, we will have very little time to respond. Maybe a few weeks. I guess this could all be a "coincidence", if thousands of very-fast, large-rocks were seen flying through our inner solar system? One in a THOUSAND might show the same kind of "suspicious" orbit by random chance. But if you were playing poker, you would bet the other way. A long-standing LIE that "aliens do not exist" has made it impossible for most people to assess the scientific probabilities accurately. If you were certain (like me) that enemy aliens really do exist, and that they pose a near-future threat to Earth, what would you think then? As an aside, maybe ask Jeremy why he made that debunking video? In poker, it would be called a "tell". Let's see what happens next. 👽

OPEN LETTER TO @NASA Subject: #Comet 3I/ATLAS I am an astronomer (former #NASA) & planetary scientist. I have discussed & named asteroids & been on the flight mission imaging science teams on #Voyager2 at #Neptune, #Magellan at #Venus, etc. I've mapped lava flows on #Mars, ice fractures on #Jupiter's moon #Europa, etc. As such, I am very concerned... As you are well aware, we are currently observing only our third interstellar visitor: Comet 3I/ATLAS I am writing this letter because I am deeply concerned that unique opportunities to observe this possibly rare event are being squandered. Although both professional & amateur terrestrial observatories & observers will be closely following & documenting this comet's progress, NASA also has spaceborne assets that should be used. This comet will make close flybys of Mars, Jupiter & our Sun. Currently, we have operational spacecraft at each of these prime locations: MARS ~Surface rovers: Curiosity Perseverance. ~ In orbit: Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Mars Odyssey JUPITER ~ Juno in orbit SUN ~ Parker Solar Probe ~ ESA's Solar Orbiter My recommendation is that because of the rarity & specialness of Comet 3I/ATLA's visit, this should be ALL hands on deck. - Spacecraft with camera systems must be mobilized to do imaging of ATLAS. - Those that don't have cameras, should perform fields & particles, & other scientific investigations. Regardless, of whether we "think" an observation by a spacecraft may or may not be useful, the attempts must be made. These attempts by currently operational spacecraft are also an opportunity to learn what systems to activate for astronomical events in the future. 💥Let's be perfectly clear: THIS visit by Comet 3I/ATLAS is a ONE TIME event. There is NO second chance because it won't be returning. There is no science that any of these missions are currently performing that they, or other future missions, couldn't do later. The only other known interstellar visitors that we know of (1I/Oumuamua & Comet 2I/Borisov) both had VERY limited observations which unfortunately left us with more questions than answers - especially in the case of Oumuamua. 💥So: ALL HANDS ON DECK! Let's mobilize all these spacecraft to observe interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS Comet 3I/ATLAS or BUST! 💥Let's get it done, get some great science, & make history.
