John “TIG” Tiegen@TigTiegen

This is a disgrace. A Gulf War Marine veteran named Albert O’Toole who served this country, took a blast that left him with TBI, and was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s was beaten by his aide Matthew Cox inside the New York State Veterans Home in Montrose, New York. His wife Angela Sangro became concerned after seeing unexplained bruises and heavy sedation. She installed a hidden camera. The footage shows the aide yanking food out of Albert’s hands, grabbing him by the neck, throwing him into a chair, punching him, and striking him in the head with a broom while he cried out in pain. No one came to help. The state fired the abuser. But the federal VA? Still has him employed. Still paying him while the case drags on. You make veterans fight through hell just to get the benefits and compensation they earned with their blood and sacrifice. You move fast to cut or reduce what’s owed to them. But when one of your own is caught on camera assaulting a defenseless veteran? You keep him on the federal payroll like it’s nothing. @SecVetAffairs you talk about accountability. Here it is. Fire this man from the VA now. No pay. No protection. No more dragging it out. @SecWar our warriors come home broken from fighting for this nation. They deserve better than a system that protects abusers while making veterans fight for every dollar they earned. @SpeakerJohnson this is on you too. Oversight without teeth is just theater. Do your job. This isn’t how you treat the men and women who served. This is a betrayal. Veterans FIRST. Zero tolerance for those who abuse them. Immediate action. No excuses. If you’re not outraged by this, you’re not paying attention. Semper Fi. @TheTankGuns

What exactly am I lying about? Israel is currently spending tens of millions of dollars with an American right-wing “influencer” marketing company. Do you think that’s appropriate? For the record: I have no foreign business partners, I do not accept any foreign money, and I support a full ban on all foreign lobbying/influence campaigns.

Not so, he could fire all of them and by the time it got to court it might be reversed but he could. The problem with the VA is that they see veterans as a cost savings for their budget rather than people that may have legitimate issues. Dead veterans cost them the least, so there is that too

When I was a kid, the Bronx was burning. My dad was a fireman who happened to be an Ivy League graduate. He told me it wasn’t the crackheads torching the city, whatever the news said. It was fraud. Let me explain how it worked…. John Doe buys a rundown apartment building for $100k. He pockets the redevelopment tax break, then sells it to Joe Doe for $250k. Joe pockets the tax break, then sells it to Jerry Doe for $500k. Rinse and repeat until the building is worth $5 million. The tax breaks are real. The money is not. Because the buyers are all family, the cash flows out of Swiss bank account 27852 and right back into 27852 after every sale. There’s a transaction cost, sure, but the tax breaks more than cover it. Then comes the payoff: they insure the building for $5 million and burn it down. The name for this was “Jewish Lightning.” The phrase stuck around not because the landlords were all Jewish, but because the stereotype hit a nerve in a city run by Jewish mayors from 1974 to 1989, the peak of the burning. Fair or not, the term stuck. So why was none of this investigated? NGO funding, of course. The NYPD union was powerful, and NYC detectives had sweeping investigative authority over almost everything. Except arson. Arson belonged to FDNY detectives. NGOs, routing money through union donations, stoked the rivalry between cops and firemen. Long story short, arson investigators got no funding and zero cooperation from the NYPD. No money for investigations means no arrests. Eventually the Bronx ran out of buildings to burn, and Giuliani drove the final nail into arson fraud’s coffin. But the lesson survived, and it’s the foundation of today’s fraud. The lesson was this: the actual value of the asset doesn’t matter. 👉What matters is the movement of money. Destruction is still very profitable. When the Baltimore bridge collapsed, the cleanup and rebuild were estimated at $1.7 billion, with the bridge reopening in 2028. The cost has since ballooned to $5.2 billion, and the wreckage still isn’t fully cleared. Money pours into demolition,, engineering, environmental review, project management, waste removal. But if the work doesn’t actually get done, the real expenses stay low. The money moves; the bridge doesn’t. And here’s the leap: you don’t have to destroy anything at all. You just have to not build it. Democrats allocate money to a government body, which hands it to a project manager, who hires consultants, who hire subcontractors, who hire more subcontractors, who funnel it back to Democrats, who allocate more money. The fewer the actual costs (labor, materials, equipment) the more of the flow you can capture. And if a taxpayer complains, you hire a PR firm and a few consultants to explain why costs keep exploding while nothing gets built. The easiest thing to blame is red tape. So why does red tape exist? Because destroying valuable property, while profitable, is too obviously unethical. Burning buildings gets you arrested, eventually. Not building gets you a ribbon-cutting and a press release. Here’s the deeper trap. Because our most valuable assets are fixed (houses, cars, index funds) we think of money as static. You have what you have. It grows over time, but it doesn’t flow. That’s exactly where the fraud lives: in the flow. The light bulb moment was realizing you don’t need to destroy physical property. You only need to destroy productivity. If labor and materials are never purchased while money pours in, the fraud works. You don’t have to build or destroy anything of value, just productivity. You just announce a project and start writing checks while throwing up enough red tape to block any real spending on labor and materials. This is basically why Congress handed @PeteButtigieg $1.2 trillion and our roads and bridges still suck five years later. They put up signs, traffic cones, and red tape, and little else. But there are a few residual problems. 1/2

Naftali Bennett נפתלי בנט
Piers, words matter. There is a war. There is no genocide. The IDF warns civilians before strikes, drops leaflets, makes phone calls, sends text messages, and opens evacuation routes. Can you name a single genocide in history where the attacking side repeatedly warned civilians to leave before military operations? This weekend alone, we lost five of our boys fighting Hezbollah face-to-face on the ground. If Israel’s goal were to kill Lebanese civilians indiscriminately, why would we risk our own troops instead of simply carpet-bombing entire areas? You’re smart and you know this. As for Ben Gvir: you’re citing the wrong person. I already told you he’s a clown. A noisy and incompetent clown. I would never have let him into my government, nor should Bibi have. Soon we’ll be replacing this miserable government. Ben Gvir insisted on rebranding himself as “National Security Minister” because he liked the dramatic title. In reality, he oversees the police. He doesn’t command the IDF, doesn’t formulate military strategy, and doesn’t make operational decisions in Lebanon. Quoting Ben Gvir to explain Israeli military policy is like quoting a loud backbencher to explain Britain’s war strategy. Israel’s actions are determined by its government and carried out by the IDF in accordance with international law.
Piers Morgan@piersmorgan

How are we supposed to ignore Ben Gvir when he’s Israel’s National Security Minister and just demanded genocide in Lebanon?

To be very clear: reality is very different from the rhetoric. The IDF takes extraordinary measures to mitigate civilian harm in Lebanon. In fact, as in Gaza, it employs more civilian harm mitigation measures than any military in past or current operations. The IDF issues evacuation warnings through multiple channels including text messages, phone calls, voicemails, flyers, radio, television, and social media. It operates dedicated civilian harm mitigation cells, tracks civilian presence through drones, cell phone data, and other ISR capabilities, and uses rigorous targeting processes that include legal reviews and proportionality assessments for any planned strikes. Legal reviews at lowest tactical level, and with the ability (which happens often as well as command decisions not to strike based on all context) to override commander decisions, unlike any other military. In southern Lebanon, these measures are particularly effective because civilians can move away from military objectives and active combat areas. Even in Beirut, the IDF has repeatedly provided warnings identifying specific buildings that will be struck and when. The warnings have proven so reliable that Lebanese citizens and journalists have set up cameras in advance to record the strikes. When targeting Hezbollah senior leaders, command meetings, or other military objectives in densely populated areas such as Dahiyeh (the Hezbollah controlled neighborhood of Beirut), the IDF relies on precision-guided munitions, small diameter munition (warheads with less explosives), and other low collateral damage munitions, detailed intelligence, and other methods designed to limit collateral damage while achieving the legitimate military objective. There is also no equivalency. Israel does not intentionally target civilians. Hezbollah is a U.S.-designated terrorist organization whose strategy includes deliberately attacking civilians. Hezbollah launches rockets, missiles, and drones at civilian communities in northern Israel (daily, despite any cease fires), targeting homes, schools, businesses, and civilian infrastructure. One side conducts legal reviews, proportionality assessments, civilian warnings, and precision strikes against military objectives. The other is a international designated terrorist group that intentionally places military assets among civilians while deliberately targeting civilians.
