Facial reconstruction of a 2,700-year-old man from Japan The Jōmon period (c. 14,000–300 BC) in Japan was marked by a population of hunter-gatherers and early agriculturalists connected by a shared culture, which developed significant sedentism and social complexity. The culture is known for its pottery with cord impressions, as well as bone, stone, shell, and antler tools, figurines, and lacquerware. The period is divided into several phases. By the Final Jōmon (around 900 BC), western Japan experienced increasing contact with settlers from the Korean Peninsula, who introduced wet rice farming, bronze and iron technology, and new pottery styles. After 300 BC, the Yayoi culture spread across most of Japan, while the Jōmon tradition persisted in Hokkaido. The Ainu are considered direct descendants of the Jōmon, retaining the highest level of Jōmon ancestry, while modern Japanese populations also carry some Jōmon genetic legacy. Morphologically and genetically, the Jōmon people were distinct from surrounding Mongolid populations, having diverged earlier.

@Ugra___ This pseudo-scientific revisionism is such waste of time... again and again. It is enough. If it turns out everything is "Indian": cool and than? What will it help you. You are imprisoned in an everlasting circle of suffering and low ego. You will not archive anything.

Timmerman and Friedrich (2016) show a hypothesized global population density model based on climate variability and sea ice formation. This snap at 29 kya shows the pop hotspots at the time of diversification of the y-haplos R1 (M173) and R2 (M479). A consistent airgap around the Zagros mountain ranges starts appearing around 29 kya that only closes around 18 kya. This is linked to a suboptimal Dansgaard–Oeschger event that caused localised drying and rainfall deficits for a period of 10 ky.

@Tatsuya9JP @Ugra___ It's true, psudo science. It only makes up stories with only the ancestors of modern humans from SEA and they think that Indian is the source of the beginning and the passage is really stupid. Where did they get that idea from?

@Fabrici69669103 @LoveeofLatinas @arcticinstincts Agreed the Andamanese have a very early "Mongolid" phenotype. There seem to have been two early East Eurasian types - gracile with early "Mongolid" traits like the Andamanese and more robust and hairier groups like Australasians and Jomon.

Jomon are not Caucasian, they are a basal East Asian lineage that diverged 38-25kya before the basal East Asian split into north/south East Asian Japanese are also on avg 12% Jomon/ 20% max

@Tatsuya9JP ANE's bearing on this topic is irrelevant. Here is a direct comparison of the phylogeny. South Asia is light blue while SE Asia is dark blue. The likelihood of the R branches reaching India via the northeast corridor is very high.

@dragonskillinit @Tatsuya9JP @LazulAdventure @WilliamTomosEd1 @Sulkalmakh 555 I agree. These guys are probably Cambodian, Indian, or Indonesian anthropologists/psudo-scientists. Especially the Khmer ones, they always have inferiority complexes and act like southern orangutans, ever since they insulted Thai people like me.🤣🤣🤣🤣🫵🫵👄

@nrken19 There seem to be certain flaws in their approach. If I understand correctly, they argue for an affilation of AA languages with Hoabinhian, rather than with CentralYunnan (Xingyi_LN), and a more recent shared ancestry between Hoabinhians & ASI (?). Interesting, but speculative.

Reconstruction of the genetic history of the Austro-Asiatic and Dravidian speaking tribal populations of South Asia. Highlights • Tribal Dravidian and Austro-Asiatic ancestries in South Asia diverged just after LGM

• South and Southeast Asian Austro-Asiatic ancestries diverged earlier during the LGM

• Notable genetic-linguistic discordance in Central India

@hindookissinger No. There are over 46 strains for H.Pylori and the Iceman strain clusters closest to the Indian phylogeny on all levels of K, PCA and locus reads. The authors state very specifically that the Iceman strain is a "nearly-pure representative of...Asian origin".

Rather unlikely, mitogenomes alone, (and in contradiction with other data) is hardly convincing. – If true, it would mean that the West/East split was shortly after OoA (c. 70kya); and the main EEC hub was in Sundaland (backflow from there into South and East Asia [Önge-like]).
