No. Mosquitoes do not transmit HIV.
Why?
A contaminated needle transmits HIV because it can directly inject infected human blood into another person’s bloodstream.
A mosquito is different:
🔻It digests the blood it sucks.
🔻HIV cannot survive or multiply inside a mosquito.
🔻When it bites again, it injects saliva, not the previous person’s blood.
Needles transfer blood. Mosquitoes inject saliva. HIV needs blood-to-blood transmission, so mosquitoes cannot spread HIV.
