@BeastModeSoccer In England kids love the game, watch it and know about it Here it’s the richest kids that get the chance to play at pay to play elite level, you’d be amazed how many actually know about the game That he and half of training that might be the only time they touch a ball

Rachel Daly said something to me recently that I haven't stopped thinking about. We were talking about development. The differences between the US, England, where the gaps actually come from. She mentioned growing up in Yorkshire, how after school there was always a game somewhere. A wall. A park. A cage. Pickup that nobody organised and nobody coached. Just kids with a ball for two, three hours every evening. She wasn't describing training. She was describing touches. Here's the number that matters. Most youth players in the US get six to eight hours of structured training a week. That sounds like a lot. In England, when Rachel was growing up, kids were getting ten or more additional hours of unstructured ball work on top of whatever their clubs gave them. That is not a talent gap. That is a touches gap. And here is what nobody wants to say out loud. You cannot buy your way out of it. A new club does not fix it. A $200 private session is one hour. One hour. What are you doing the other 23? The players who close the gap are not the ones with the best coaches or the most expensive programmes. They are the ones who find a wall and use it. Every day. Not when they feel like it. Every day. Thirty minutes against a wall will give you more quality touches than most players get in a full week. It trains both feet. It trains first touch under repetition. It builds the muscle memory that shows up when the game speeds up and you do not have time to think. Rachel Daly did not get to where she is because she had better resources than everyone else. She got there because she put in the work that most players skip because nobody made them do it. The wall is free. The ball you already have. The thirty minutes is a choice. The question is whether you are making it.

@imathletetruth The bigger problem is the entitlement, just because you was a star on your pay to play team, when you get to college you have to earn it For some that is to much to take so they’d rather transfer out than try and fight and compete Will college ⚽️ ever go back to how it was

@MTSmith78 Agreed. Nothing was gained by allowing endless transfers. A one time “grace” transfer was working. Far too many players think it’s better at the next school and it won’t be. Coaches looking for the diamond in the rough in the portal. Both sides rarely end up happy in the end.

This is great advice! And be careful of the Spring hold over player the team keeps so they can get thru practices with the low roster numbers and injuries only to be let go at the end of the spring to make room for the new transfers and the upcoming freshman. It’s happening.
ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer@ImYouthSoccer

🚨Many D1 Women Soccer programs provide a “multiyear” scholarship at signing day that has $ only in year 1 and zeros or is blank in years 2, 3, 4. Yes it is a “four-year scholarship” per #NCAA but really it’s a 1-year deal that is renewable each year since aid is only guaranteed in year 1. This is a shock to most players and parents as they only find out just before signing day in November when the athletic aid offer is sent and at that point there is no recourse as it is to late in the recruiting cycle and no leverage from the player side. The assumption is that whatever you were offered is for all 4 years but at many D1 programs it is really just for year 1 in all the official financial aid documents. Coaches will often spin it "we keep it blank in year 2, 3, 4 so we can offer more if you do well" but obviously if you don't show that you are a difference maker in year 1 than year 2 is already starting at zero and that is how coaches can more easily move on from players. It is a bit of a "dirty secret" in the coaching world that is never discussed. Kudos to @jemelehill for shining some light on this. #ECNL #GirlsAcademy #CollegeSoccer #2027Recruiting #NCAASoccer #D1Soccer #SoccerRecruiting

@imathletetruth Right now it’s no development and come in and make an instant impact They need to change the rule back to a one time transfer The worrying stat is how many were good pay to play players, they last one season in college, try transfer and never play again

@MTSmith78 College teams have always needed to win but the NCAA blew things up when they allowed endless transfers and NIL. Coaches used to develop players and players used to work for minutes. Now you have seniors at their 3rd/4th school and coaches looking for what’s next. Bad 4 business.

Virginia just banned gun possession under 21 unless supervised by an "adult." Virginia defines adult as 18. So you can't have a gun if you're 20. Unless you're with an 18-year-old. Then it's fine! Democrats are stupid!

🚨 BENEFITS CHEAT MUM, 33, CLAIMS £23K FOR BEING HOUSEBOUND WITH ANXIETY – THEN JETTED TO CANCUN FOR CLUBBING, ZIPLINING & SURFING! Catherine Wieland from East Sussex raked in £23,662 PIP over two years, swearing she couldn’t cook, wash or leave the house alone due to crippling anxiety, PTSD and dyslexia. Reality? She was spotted at Thorpe Park THREE times, Chessington, Brighton Pride, quad-biking, cave-exploring, 76 beauty appointments and 60 pub/club nights – plus a luxury Mexico holiday with her son! DWP surveillance and her own social media posts nailed her. Hove Crown Court heard she even bagged a Motability BMW. Judge slammed: “Pure and simple fraud… aggravated by pubbing, clubbing and Cancun.” 28-week suspended sentence + full £23k repayment ordered. Classic!

People like this woman need to be properly dealt with. She wasn’t so concerned about their citizenship when she hired them and ostensibly took someone’s job. She is a cheap, disgusting garbage human who just wants to cheat someone else for her own gain. Probably one of those pathetic people that also complains about people who use food stamps. Fuck every person who behaves like this.

My son recently had a cavity. Took him to the dentist, who extracted it. That dentist visit cost $2400. My insurance covered $250, so we owe $2,150 out of pocket. I pay $612/month for family dental and health insurance. Something seems broken.

@goughy23 @ECNLgirls David ask yourself why this is, to coach in the ecnl you don’t need any license, just proof you can get kids to D1 Unfortunately it won’t change, clubs won’t fire coaches as they don’t want to lose money Parents put it with the ‘abuse’ due to the marketing of D1 scholarship

Enough now…I am calling upon the @ECNLgirls leadership to step up…🛑 this approach from club coaches in your league’s. It IS NOT COACHING. It IS ABUSE, it’s “time to say goodbye” call it out, don’t turn a blind eye anymore. Thank you Marsha for this post. ⚽️🇺🇸 #timetosaygoodbye
Marsha Lycan@mlycan12

I’ve been sitting on this one a bit, but packing for the Phoenix showcase. I have to get something off my chest. I’ll start by saying that I coached a ton of club soccer for many years and I understand the time and energy it requires as well as the ever increasing pressure to win games, especially at the highest level. I know I am not alone as a college coach given the eye rolling and wincing that I see coming from colleagues as we witness the screaming and belittling and berating of 16-year-old girls from some club coaches. It’s no wonder why some of them come to us having had their confidence completely destroyed and unable to ever make a decision. Keep in mind I am Gen Xer that knows coaching should be more than warm and fuzzy all the time. However, the most effective coaches seem to be animated, passionate and motivating while still maintaining a respectful and positive tone (ie Emma Hayes). Fortunately, it’s not the majority—and I love shouting out those that lead with enjoyment not anger. Would love to hear thoughts on this and how we’ve gotten to a point where we’ve normalized this behavior that can sometimes be classified as downright abusive. #EarPlugsForTheSideline #LetThemPlay #RecruitingProblems

@TouchlineX Should be the same for the goalkeepers that go down to waste time Take the captain off for the amount of time he’s down All these ideas above are another way for FIFA to control and manipulate the result
