Hello @Sophie_Mokoena. I have just landed in #Malabo for the @_AfricanUnion Retreat on G20 Engagements in 2026. While #SouthAfrica has signaled a suspension of its G20 participation this year, the situation you mentioned raise legitimate concerns and will be discussed during this retreat. #Burundi will also reflect on South Africa’s experience and lessons learned during South Africa’s chairship of the G20.
Sophie Mokoena@Sophie_Mokoena

The country that pushed for AU inclusion being sidelined and it’s business as usual at the @_AfricanUnion .What’s your reaction as the current chair of the Assembly @willynyamitwe @BurundinAddis @US_Emb_Burundi ?

@willynyamitwe @SolomonADersso @Sophie_Mokoena @_AfricanUnion Sir, it was South Africa, the country - not just its President - which was barred from the 2026 G20. The summit at the end is a culmination of work done by member states during the year. South Afrixa is excluded from all that, not just the summit. You know this (or you should).

I don't understand your confusion because there is only one truth here, which is telling your husband everything. Unless if you ........
Sadam@ArcSadam

“I’m a married woman with 3 kids, and I really need honest advice because this situation is getting out of hand. It all started after my last birthday. My husband’s elder brother sent me 100,000. I was surprised, so I called him to ask why. He said it was a birthday gift. I even told him it was too much, but he insisted I should accept it. Out of respect and transparency, I told my husband. He even called his brother to thank him. But that’s where everything changed… Later, my husband’s elder brother called me and warned me never to tell my husband again whenever he sends me money. That alone made me very uncomfortable. Then things got worse. Whenever my husband travels, he starts asking me to meet him in private places. I refused the first time, the second time, even the third time. Then one day, he came to our house and confronted me, angry that I didn’t show up. I stood my ground and told him clearly: I cannot meet you alone anywhere. But instead of stopping, he pushed further, He told me he wants to buy me a new car. He even suggested I should lie to my husband, that I took a loan, sold my old car, and upgraded, without telling him the truth. At this point, I feel disrespected, uncomfortable, and honestly disturbed. I haven’t told my husband yet. but I’m wondering if I should. If you were in my shoes, what would you do? Keep quiet to avoid family drama, or speak up before it gets worse? I really need your advice”.

In terms of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (1963), Uganda has to inform the 🇿🇦 Embassy when our nationals are arrested. This has not happened. Either these fellows are not South African, their documents are fraudulent or the story is fake. We will monitor & update accordingly.

@TrishStuth @gndzongana "They were already at 60% uranium enrichment, ......" Why is that your business? At what percentage uranium is the US?; Israel?; Russia?

What are you even talking about? The US invaded Iran because it was stockpiling conventional weapons to ensure it had a shield while it developed nuclear weapons. They were already at 60% uranium enrichment, way more than ever needed for civilian purposes. They are also religious zealots who believe that in order to fulfil prophecy they must destroy the West and they have been arming proxy terror groups all over the region and the globe. Additionally, America, reckonising the success Israel had achieved by not only defanging Hamas and Hezbollah but also destroying Iran's ability to defend itself from enemy aircraft, saw this as a once in a generation opportunity to rid the world of the psychopaths that run Iran. These same psychopaths have murdered upwards of 40.000 innocent, unarmed civilians for simply protesting against oppression. The world is a better place without the clerics running Iran.

If the US had succeeded in Iran, South Africa would have been next. Iran not only defended its humanity, territorial integrity, sovereignty, people, religion, and culture — it also shattered Israel’s plan to instruct Trump to attack South Africa. Figures like Kalie Kriel and Ernst Roets were already imagining themselves as presidents of this country, recognized and backed by the Trump and Netanyahu governments.

I’m honestly very irritated and deeply pained right now. It’s hard for me to understand why someone would move to another country and choose to destroy the system instead of adding value to it. When you migrate to another land, you should carry respect, discipline, and a mindset to contribute, not to damage the very environment that is hosting you. What makes this even more painful is that it reflects the same struggle we face back home in Nigeria. The same way people fight those who advocate for what is right and ignore the voices calling for integrity is the same pattern being repeated abroad. When we ignore what truly matters and begin to normalize the wrong things, this is the result. The consequences don’t stay local, they follow us everywhere. Sometimes it becomes frustrating because the actions of a few individuals end up damaging the reputation of millions of good Nigerians who stand for truth, hard work, and dignity. But even in this frustration, one thing remains true: the wrongdoing of some should not define the character of all. There are still many Nigerians who represent the best of our nation wherever they go. Nigeria is bigger than the mistakes of a few. And those of us who believe in what is right must continue to stand for it, at home and abroad.

You left Nigeria and moved to South Africa despite widely reported hostilities against Nigerians. You ignored the warnings, disregarded the news, and then gathered with fellow Igbos to install a supposed king while living as immigrants? I sincerely don’t know what is wrong with us as a people, but it’s time we face established realities that Nigerians are not particularly popular in many parts of Africa. Talk less of xenophobic South Africa. We need to start accepting this reality, especially when our approach can sometimes come across as loud or domineering. There is a clear need for cultural intelligence, awareness, and humility when living as guests in other people’s countries. Na everything them go spell for us? South Africa has shown, time and again, that it can be a hostile environment for Nigerians. That is a reality we cannot keep pretending doesn’t exist. Why dare them?

Here is the summary of paragraph 11 on the letter by Cat Matlala’s ex prison cell-mate: • He says Vusi “Cat” Matlala told him about a friend named Morgan (Hangwani Maumela), who is allegedly a nephew of Cyril Ramaphosa. • He says according to Matlala, Ramaphosa publicly denied this relationship. • However, Matlala claimed that someone referred to as “T-bo touch” had uploaded a video showing Ramaphosa at Morgan’s house. • He says Matlala also claimed he was involved with Morgan in a tender at Thembisa Hospital, where they allegedly made a lot of money. • Matlala further mentioned a woman named Babita Deokaran in connection with these matters. • He says Matala also claimed that he was personally close to Ramaphosas, allegedly that he was involved in taking items like couches and other stuff to Phala Phala 😶
