A 50-year-old woman is recovering after a violent farm attack near Coligny in which she was allegedly ambushed while walking back from horse stables about 500 metres from the farmhouse. According to the report, she was struck more than ten times with an iron pipe, nearly lost consciousness, and then turned onto her back and kicked repeatedly in an apparent attempt to survive. Despite her injuries, she managed to make it back to the house and alert her husband.
Her husband immediately raised the alarm and farmers from the surrounding area reportedly responded quickly to assist. The farm owner also helped to get her to hospital in Klerksdorp. The victim is now recovering physically, but the trauma remains severe, especially because the attacker is still not in custody.
What is equally troubling is the family’s account of the police response. They say police and the dog unit were on the scene on Tuesday evening, but left when it started raining. They further allege that, despite repeated enquiries, the victim’s statement had still not been properly taken and there had been little to no meaningful communication afterwards. The family says they have been left with silence while vital time and possible evidence were lost.
Police have confirmed that a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm was opened and that the victim’s statement still had to be obtained. The report also notes that police initially issued incorrect details about both the date of the attack and the victim’s age before later correcting it. No suspect has yet been arrested.
This case raises two serious issues. First, the brutal reality of violent attacks in rural areas. Second, the continued failure of policing follow-up, victim communication and basic investigative urgency. When someone is nearly beaten to death and the attacker is still free while the family struggles even to get feedback, the system is not serving victims properly. IC

CIT HEIST🚨Sir, @CyrilRamaphosa
These youths are unemployed… now they’re running for scraps of cash from a cash-in-transit like it’s a Black Friday special 💔
How long are we going to pretend this is normal?
How long before survival turns into chaos? 🇿🇦

@ShawnRyan762 What does "pick your"friends " wisely" mean? Do you disapprove of Israel as an ally? Are you in that camp?
English

Not good.
It will be blamed on us because we initiated the war.
Pick your "friends" wisely.
Qatar Energy CEO tells Reuters: Two out of 14 of our LNG trains and one out of two of our gas-to-liquids (gtl) facility were damaged in the attacks we will be losing 12.8 million tons per year of LNG for three to five years, around 17% of Qatar’s export LNG
We may have to declare force majeure on long-term contracts for up to five years for LNG supplies to Italy, Belgium, Korea and China.

@PresidencyZA @PMashatile Awesome. Can you actually provide some, we've spent much of the past two years without safe and reliable water.

Yip.
Over and above all this we have so much oil and gas beneath us we could be using to our advantage.
We CHOOSE to be energy poor and dependent on other countries because it suits special interests.

I remember these streets - A 400k barrel per day refinery was on the cards for Coega. - We could have fracked the Karoo and done GTL at PetroSA. - A "Sasol 4" could be viable in the coal belts in Limpopo. - Govt was going assist with refinery upgrades (today SAPREF, Engen & PetroSA idle standing). - Neighboring countries such as Mozambique have abundant gas that could have been secured before beheadings became a thing. The list of bad decisions and policy are abundant.

@debbiepieterse @CyrilRamaphosa With what? Even if he wanted to help his government has ruled over the complete destruction of all our military resources (and we had an impressive military).
English

Iran is asking Brics nations for help. I wonder if @CyrilRamaphosa will plunge South Africa into more hardship by responding to them?

What’s wrong with Starmer?
Why is it so difficult for him to understand that Islam is not like other religions?
Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity do not have a religious mandate to acquire political power and enforce their worldview on the entire society.
Why is he so ignorant of the fact that Islamic public celebrations are not religious, but political activism?

@SimplyMegszcpt This doesn't apply to just Tshwane unfortunately. The water mafia has a tight hold on much of the country at the expense of everyone.
English

I feel for the people of Tshwane who have been suffering. Their basic human rights have been violated in unimaginable ways. Being without water takes it toll, and when one discovers that lack of water and service delivery has come about because political leaders and public officials have been lining their pockets through kickbacks from tender fraud. We don't hate these politicians enough!! May justice prevail. 😡🇿🇦

I spoke last night with @AnaKasparian on Joe Kent's revelation that Israel was a major reason why Trump started a new war with Iran.
We examine just some of the evidence showing the serious dominance of Israel in US foreign policy and the Trump administration:

Americans that love America should be praising Trump and our strategic military leaders and planners for the genius involved in not only the Iran conflict, but also for how they have put a leash on China in the process.
Let me explain.
Almost half of China’s imported oil and a third of its natural gas comes through the Strait of Hormuz.
Yes, they have reserves, and yes they could try to get more from other suppliers (Russia), but nonetheless, their supply chain for energy resources has been degraded and disrupted to a point that it forces them to acknowledge that their supply can be negatively affected whenever we want it to be.
Trump isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to put them back in their place, and they know that now.
They have maybe 90 days of reserves before drastic measures would need to be taken. Trump put them on the clock now a few weeks ago.
That’s a third of their time that they have of reserves already gone and most of you didn’t even know about it.
They cannot force project or assist Iran like they want to do right now because Trump turned off one of their main energy faucets and warned them: we are and always have been the dominant force on this earth, don’t forget it.
This is American dominance, and real America first people would be applauding this effort and genius, not decrying it along with the left.

"If the United States can hold firm for the next few weeks, it can fully degrade Iran’s war-making apparatus. This would usher in a multiyear interval of calm of the kind that neither sanctions nor diplomacy has been able to produce in..four decades."
