🚨New: Solana’s leading lending protocol @kamino has flipped @JupiterExchange to become the top DeFi protocol on the network by TVL, after climbing 11% over the last seven days.

Unfortunately, risk-adjusted yield is not a buzzword. For every bps of yield you earn, you need to ask: 1. What is my yield? 2. What are the odds, percentage-wise, I can lose my money earning this yield? 3. How much of my principal am I likely to lose? 4. What is the recovery rate likely to be (what % of the principal I lose - be it via exploit, bad debt, etc - will likely be recovered)? And mark down your yield accordingly. There is an actual formula for this: Risk-Adjusted Yield = Nominal Yield − (Probability of Loss × Loss Severity × (1 − Recovery Rate)) Two practical examples to illustrate how you need to think about this: Product #1 - pure lending w 5% APY in a battle tested protocol You estimate a 2% chance of a loss event per year, 20% of principal at risk, 30% recovery. So: 5% − (2% × 20% × 70%) = 4.72% APY Here, the risk discount is fairly minimal as the loss probability is low and some recovery is plausible. Product #2 - Leverage loop on a yield-bearing stable w up to 20% APY You estimate 15% chance of loss, 80% of principal at risk, 0% recovery (i.e. what’s gone is gone) That’s 20% − (15% × 80% × 100%) = 8% If you look at it like this, your juicy 20% APY suddenly seems closer than you’d have thought to the 5% in vanilla lending - and you’re dealing with more variables than even this formula would suggest with far more variance on risk factors. I do believe that, as an industry, and particularly on Solana, we are slowly starting to come to terms with the fact that these numbers truly matter. You don’t calculate your risk adjusted yield for the fuck of it. Ultimately, the only number that matters is what you get when you ask: “what’s left once I price in how much money I could lose here?”

Can’t believe I have to reference this tweet again and that it’s only a couple of weeks old. The only takeaway is - hackers don’t care about your marketing or your narrative or your shill army.

We firmly believe there are ongoing US-Iran "peace deal" talks right now: Why? Because we have seen this EXACT sequence of events MULTIPLE times in previous deals negotiated by President Trump. In fact, the May 2025 China trade deal followed the exact same timeline. On April 24th, 2025, just 15 days after the "90-day tariff pause," which also came as the 10Y Note Yield soared above 4.45%, President Trump made similar claims about China, and China responded like Iran just did. Trump said China was interested in a "trade deal" with the US, and China responded stating that "there are absolutely no negotiations between the US and China." Just 3 weeks later, on May 12th, 2025, the US and China announced their first trade deal, reducing tariffs to a 30% baseline. We believe a similar situation is happening right now with Iran, behind closed doors. As Iran's war strategy has become to play the “long game” and pressure the US/Israel through capital and energy markets, Iran does not want to lose leverage and allow markets to normalize until a definitive deal has been solidified. This is the same exact form of leverage that China had in April 2025 negotiations, which they initially denied, as the 10Y Note Yield broke above 4.50% and US equity markets collapsed. We believe Trump is following the same playbook now. That said, volatility will persist until there is a clear agreement in place, and broader market normalization after this historic shock will take months. Pattern-based trading has become incredibly profitable over the last 12 months, and we continue to update our models as a result. Bookmark this post. Keep following the patterns.

You shouldn't be doing DeFi on EVM. Generally, exploits in DeFi are rarer on Solana, and they tend to be only where really esoteric stuff is going on and even then they rarely end up killing the projects. @kamino has been consistently the #1 lending market by TVL since 2023. Hasn't been exploited. TGE'd in a timely manner. Essentially the Macbook of DeFi. No, it's not perfect, it won't fit everyone, it doesn't try to go hard on integrating new things and seek out yield that way by complicating your life with junior/senior tranches, rehypothecation, etc. Instead, it is the go-to solution and one stop shop for pros and amateurs too, you know it won't let you down.

Lol I totally forgot about that. You remember those massive x-rays they made the Tata busses drive through with the loads of dudes from the man camps? Good times breaking up fights between the crews waiting in line for buses. When Qatar was saying years I thought damn that's a long time to be offline, they must have hit some custom fab long lead items, so was taking their word for it based on damage assessment. If they get it online sooner that's great for the world, hopefully we stop flying $30k drones into $13B LNG trains so we can all keep enjoying nice things.

Largest world LNG plant being bombed in Qatar means large parts of the world will have lng and natural gas shortages, on top of fertilizer (made by gas) prices exploding, hence food prices going up again, and countless more effects down the fossil fuel production chain Serious inflation coming, recession all but guaranteed at this point, so stagflation If you are somehow heavily dependent or do not have reserves, the time to prepare is now if you can still get your hands on it Trump & the US have made an enormous miscalculation starting this war, world will be dealing for a while with the fall-out from this. Like seriously, how can these f**king idiots just start bombing the sh*t out of country and not thinking about the consequences, that is what one gets with such clowns in power. If this escalates even further and there will be bombing of even more oil & gas facilities in Iran and possibly Saudi-Arabia, i will retreat to the eco/permaculture/forest garden mountain and sit it out there
