@MikeOnBTC I respect it. What keeps you coming back to the cold plunge? I hear folks swear by it but never pulled the trigger myself.

If a bank started paying interest in bitcoin, Bitcoiners would lose their minds. River pays 3.30% in bitcoin on cash today. Our clients earned 100+ BTC since 2024. The future of banking is Bitcoin banking.

They are putting DATA CENTERS in the ocean now. Panthalassa, a startup from Portland, just raised $140 MILLION. what they do: build floating platforms that sit out at sea and run AI. no power grid needed. the ocean waves make all the electricity. the seawater keeps the chips cool. How it works: big floating balls bob up and down with the waves. that motion makes power. the power runs the AI chips inside. backed by PETER THIEL. company now worth almost $1 BILLION. land is running out of room and power for AI. so the next move is simple. go to the sea.

🇲🇽 Mexican Billionaire Ricardo Salinas: "In this context of wild creation of false purchasing power, what can the price of Bitcoin do?... It's going to go up together with all the other real assets in the world." "All the assets are going up because of inflation. Inflation meaning the expansion of false purchasing power." "Purchasing power that's being stolen from the people by the government... And that chunk of new purchasing power creation debases the whole currency. So everything that is denominated in that currency has to go up in value. Everything." "As soon as you get some fiat, you want to get rid of it... buy some Bitcoin and store it."

@davidpattersonx The 2nd amendment talks about "arms" not guns. Whatever arms a "well regulated Militia" drawn from the populace may need should be legal to "keep and bear." I would agree though that we need better anti-drone tech.

The Second Amendment has been revoked by technology. The purpose of the Second Amendment was to preserve democracy. If the government were to seize authoritarian power, the people would be able to overthrow it, having the right to bear arms. Drones have now made small arms obsolete. Your collection of hundreds of handguns and rifles won't save you when a drone can spot you from 1,000 feet and dive to attack at 100 mph. The war in Ukraine has shown the effectiveness of drones and the ineffectiveness of rifles and shotguns against them. Autonomous drones will be even more aggressive. They will be able to make effective use of cover and concealment, as well as speed and maneuver, making them almost impossible to hit. Your gun collection will be worthless.

🇺🇸 No surprises there. The Fed left rates unchanged in its first decision under Chairman Kevin Warsh. The banks behind the Federal Reserve still hold the keys to credit creation, asset prices, and liquidity. As long as that’s true, the financial industrial complex have the stock market, and much of the economy, in the palm of their hand. Warsh reiterated that the 2% inflation target remains in place. If they’re serious about that target, rate cuts become much harder to justify. Which leaves one obvious question: if the policy can’t change, does the data have to? Seems the strategy is shifting the narrative through the data rather than shifting policy through rates.
