@ladoctorajones @Mom_interrupted Your spouse needs to know. Honestly. It’s a different trauma than yours but it does help them understand you. That suppressed emotion and trauma is hard for a spouse if you don’t. Speaking of it allows you to turn it loose. It’s still terrible but you carry it differently

When you can’t talk about it publicly because of HIPAA, and can’t talk about it with friends/ family because it’s too depressing, where do you put all of the suppressed grief and rage that surfaces when you see the most unspeakable horrors of the world in the #PedsICU?

@Mom_interrupted I sometimes talk to my mom and husband. But some cases, especially bad child abuse cases like the one I’m currently processing, are just unspeakable. Like I don’t even want to traumatize them with my trauma. And my friends who have kids- forget it. It would break them.
