@GuyPlummer34449 @MaryLowe501 Contra question: Now that it’s not sitting on the @CI_Coop balance sheet, will shareholder members see a better return on investment or even an improvement/compensation for funding the Co-Op’s folly for over 25 years with zero return

@ScribblerJB Yes Follow my page @GuernseyFuelOil for all the latest prices I have an update to do, but still Whiteway’s is the cheapest Don’t go anywhere near the @CI_Coop who are 17.4ppl dearer than Whiteway A huge corporate, so much dearer than a tiny independent forecourt!

@guernseyliz14 Out of interest, how many songs do you have on your ‘liked songs’? I’ve got over 1,000 but always looking for more inspiration Maybe try a ‘Jam’ or a ‘Collaborative playlist’ with a friend Happy to share mine I’ve got everything from Englebert Humperdinck to The Clash 😆

Friends does anyone have any advice for new stuff to listen to? It has to have lyrics with meaning and to be tuneful. I'm stuck with my old friends the Eagles, Paul Carrack, Queen etc. Proper songs from people who are pleasant to listen to.

@NigelStaples @YoungGuern It would make a significant difference to the UK economy and would protect the security of the UK’s energy supply.

@DavidPiesing63 @YoungGuern But even if North Sea production was back up to maximum levels, it would make zero difference to the global market, as the market tends to move as a ‘whole’ not as a single ‘part’ Brent Crude is just a small part of a much wider market

The North Sea Transition Authority is reducing licences and not renewing licences due to the government policy. The government also made it less commercially viable due to high taxes from the oil industry, which is again government policy. Government policy can be changed. Oil still exists in the UK’s North Sea.

If you saw this in today's @GuernseyPress and wondered wtf, I think it has its roots in 1930s boiler legislation and 1950s health and safety because GEL is deemed a "factory" as it generates electricity. @advocategreen1 ?

@advocategreen1 I doubt the use of the word ‘fever’ is correct at this time Maybe a ‘sniffle’ 🤧 would be more appropriate? 😆 Who will catch a cold though?

By election fever. Let's hope we get a decent spread of candidates that will justify the cost and that there is proper debate about the ideas and policies that the island needs to be talking about. (This isn't the first islandwide by election btw)

Do we have a problem with absentee owners who simply don't care about the condition of their property on the island? This wall has closed a public road for two and a half years but it will be discussed when the owner is "next in the island" guernseypress.com/news/2026/03/1…

@FBAwayDays I did that once travelling to see MUFC v Bordeaux in the days before mobile 📱 and map apps, ended up at Bordeaux training ground! Luckily we (5 of us in a tiny Clio) were very early, so we did make it the ground on time. I took some stick from the lads for that tho 😆

One Barcelona fan had an absolute nightmare last night. He turned up at St James’ Park expecting to see his team take on Newcastle, but he’d travelled to the wrong St James’ Park, Exeter City’s ground… 😭🫣 The staff at Exeter sorted him out with a ticket to their game against Lincoln, so he was able to watch a game. Adam Spencer, Supporter Experience Officer at Exeter City, said: “One of our volunteers came to the office to let us know that this guy had turned up expecting to see FC Barcelona. His English wasn’t great, but from what we could gather, he’d come from London. My guess is he’d put St James Park in his phone and then just followed the directions from there. “He was pretty gutted and a bit embarrassed. So, we sorted him out a ticket and he got to watch a game at the real St James Park. He’d be welcome back any time.” You have to feel for him, but good on Exeter for being so accommodating! 👏

@NigelStaples @MaryLowe501 Yes, it may have dragged on longer than a day. Lester has a lot to day about bonfires. And the interminable debates about States' rules of procedure or the like. I wasted 8 years of my life on that lol

@MaryLowe501 @NigelStaples Yes although it sometimes depends on the subject matter. In for example the assisted dying debate, I felt the need to address all pertinent points, but if it is about bonfires or bornements, less so
