BREAKING: For the first time in over 10 years I was unable to find a working link for "YouTube Video Downloads" in Google search, I wondered why then saw the AI Overview: You can "officially" download videos w/ YouTube Premium." Yeah F*ck right off. I'm switching to Yandex.

@ChiralChikage @itamiworks Though I think this advice may apply more for older models that use CLIP than newer models that use LLMs for their front end. The LLMs tend to be a little bit better in interpreting meaning from prompts.

Another thing to keep in mind, these models don't always know what something means literally, but it's more like a statistical association between patterns and tags. An example would be that I've noticed guns tend to come out better when "trigger discipline" is added, probably because the sort of artist who would draw that is also the sort of artist who would tend to draw more accurate firearms. There's lots of little vague associations you can notice, where tags will bias it towards certain things that aren't literally described by the tag.

The ADL classifies a shitload of stuff as “right wing extremism” and almost nothing as “left wing extremism”. That is the heart of the problem. If white people killing black people, which is rare per capita, is classified as “right wing”, then, logically, blacks killing whites should be “left wing”, but they don’t count that at all! The ADL pushes extreme anti-white propaganda, therefore they are a hate group. Plain and simple.

@hayasaka_aryan So, you know, if you happen to perceive government overreach, the FBI/DHS has you on their shitlist, and will try to send you to prison over spicy jokes.

@hayasaka_aryan By the way, the FBI/DHS openly state who they're targeting on page 5 of their "Strategic Intelligence Assessment and Data on Domestic Terrorism" from 2021 dhs.gov/sites/default/… Newer reports haven't changed much, but they don't have the cute little infographics anymore :(

Proctor's autismpost hit the character limit for lyrics in Suno, but regardless, enjoy
Proctor Zakharov@ProctorZ

Okay, so, this is not going to be a fun post, but I feel the need to make it because after seeing it happen so many times in the last few weeks, my lunar autism juices are fizzing at just the right temperature to prompt an in-depth response. First of all, I want to make it clear that I don't hate Chibi Reviews. I think he is a little weird and I don't particularly like some of his views, but absolutely nothing I've seen from him justifies anything resembling what he has endured at the hands of various malicious actors. For context, I've been using the internet since I was 11 years old. I've said and done plenty of stupid things. I've responded to obvious bait. I've displayed righteous indignation and had plenty of overwrought, melodramatic reactions while seething with unwarranted anger at things that were none of my business. I say this because I don't want anyone to think I'm somehow speaking from an armoured bunker of intellectual superiority. I understand Chibi's feelings. He has suffered miserably, been targeted unjustly, and spent years being poked, prodded and incited by others. That said, Chibi Reviews is objectively one of the stupidest people I've seen on the internet. He is a thoroughbred lolcow who devotes an unreasonable amount of time and energy to making himself one of the easiest and most accessible punching bags in the anime community. A lolcow is identified by their characteristic inability to learn and grow from their mistakes. Chibi Reviews is the nerdy kid in school who walked around with an invisible 'kick me' sign attached to his back, instantly and instinctively identified by every bully as a target they can easily get a reaction from. In a perfect world he'd have learned from this and adapted his approach over the years. However, that hasn't been the case. He has an established pattern of endlessly responding to and provoking additional incidents of harassment wherever he goes. He broadcasts every weakness, every momentary emotional lapse, every pressure point and every sore spot that anyone can press on. I am not saying you shouldn't be emotionally vulnerable online from time to time. People have the right to grieve, the right to show weakness, the right to be unfiltered, etc. But that right is one that should be carefully exercised. Chibi does not. He is God's Strongest Soldier Endlessly Fighting His Hardest Battles[TM]. The problem with all of this is that Chibi Reviews has become the poster child for compassion fatigue. When I first saw the kind of things he was enduring, I felt very sorry for him. It hurt to see him being hurt. But then I saw him continue getting hurt, in ways that by now experience should've taught him to avoid. Now my reserves of compassion are entirely gone. Instead I just wait patiently for the next crash-out, the next bit of bait that he chomps down on without hesitation, the next random comment on obscure forums he drags out of the depths and waves around as a sign of victimhood. Again, let me emphasize, none of these things should be happening to him. He should not be harassed, persecuted, doxed, stalked or humiliated. But a critical part of being a public figure on the internet is internalizing the fact that these sorts of things will happen at some point, and that how you respond to them happening determines the result. As a by-now notorious lolcow with an established pattern of behaviour, Chibi Reviews has isolated himself almost completely from any practical assistance. His friends know that standing by him makes them a target. Meanwhile opportunists (hi Tectone!) can be certain that extending even an ounce of support guarantees he will become their ardent public defender, unthinkingly parroting their views and taking as much heat from them as possible until it is convenient to abandon him. In short, the suffering Chibi endures on behalf of others makes him the ideal target for grifters. His vulnerability makes him an equally ideal target for low-effort trolls who are guaranteed a response. This has led to the current status quo. There is now an established industry of trolling dedicated to mining the seemingly infinite resources that Chibi provides them. This industry even has its own stock market, where speculators trade stocks of his suffering in the hopes of a payout in the form of his support or opposition to boost their own prestige and influence. These things do not arise in a vacuum. They do not happen to people who have grasped the nature of online interaction and developed adequate coping mechanisms for it. If Chibi were to learn from his experiences and adapt, this industry would collapse very quickly. But he keeps doing the same things over and over again, like the best-trained dog in Pavlov's kennel. Nothing in this post should be taken as a justification or excuse for the willing and purposeful acts of harassment that other people have directed towards Chibi. Those people deserve condemnation. However, they are not irrational actors. They are doing what they do out of a calculated knowledge that they will be successful and be rewarded for their efforts. You cannot solve this problem using any of the tactics Chibi Reviews uses. Those tactics only guarantee escalation. Okay, that about wraps it up. I'm going gardening now.

@torstwolf1 Oh yeah, I remember there were the music instruments that would play ABC files, which you could convert from midi files, and when you would play them, other people would hear it. I would convert black midi to play, and it would lag everyone out, lol. youtube.com/watch?v=KRRx8k…

Bro, I used to play on this one Starbound server back in the day, back in early access, and had so much fun with it, but not all all the way the game was intended to be played. The server itself was a vanilla server, but it may as well have been a creative server for all the hacking we did on it. We were all trying to break the game in fun and interesting ways with custom homemade client-side mods and player data editing. I made snowballs that exploded. One guy made a gun that referenced a sprite for a button in the UI, so it was like he was waving around a button. We were all flying around with the flight tech, but hacked to go super speed. I remember I put control characters in my player data username, so when I would talk in chat, my name would be colored, and people would think I was a moderator. Fun times. From what I heard, though, the company was super exploitative of people they hired, and just ripping them off and not paying them, and then getting new people to replace them. Very unfortunate.

Gaming (and entertainment in general) is an entirely optional luxury good, and when it stops being enjoyable, it stops being a worthwhile product. I don't own a TV (aside from my computer monitor) or any streaming subscriptions like Netflix. Why would I pay money to engage with ragebait? Also, I still generally refuse to play games with microtransactions, includes gacha games, even Umamusume. Being pestered for money when I'm trying to relax with my entertainment sours the experience for me. There are so many other things I could be doing with my time, and when it comes to gaming, I would prefer to play games that just let you play the game once you buy it.

What gaming opinion will you defend like this?
