The United States does not need to free the Strait of Hormuz to secure its oil supplies. But Europe needs it. So why don’t they do anything to help the US de-mine the waters? America is going to do it anyway, but Trump should leave NATO, pull US forces out of Europe and charge the Europeans a premium for any sort of defense. Let them pay for their own militaries.
