Witnessing American history & Badassery!!! The Artemis II launch at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The most powerful man rocket in history. Sending four brave astronauts further than any human has ever been from planet Earth. Absolutely spectacular. Well done NASA & @rookisaacman🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

How is it even possible that the people on survivor are so clean, their clothes look like they just came from the dry cleaners, there nails like they got just got a manicure. There’s no insects tormenting them, no hard work, no hunger. WTF

I love that the "limited reach" of Pro Trump accounts is "totally normal and an issue they're trying to resolve with changes to the algorithm," but the second you go Anti-Trump, you magically have MASSIVE amounts of reach... I sense fuckery.

On this day of the launch of Artemis II craft and mission, I am taken aback by some of the revisionist comments I have recently read this afternoon. People actually dismissing what this means to people of my era (GenX, etc.). I am currently genuinely anxious. I am so hopeful and filled with pride. This is huge. Younger people, and/or people with short term memory have gotten used to the successes of SpaceX, and MAD PROPS to them. For me and my ilk, it’s not that easy. These are four humans with families…children…going further into space than anyone has ever gone. When I was in 6th grade, I remember being this excited. I wrote two letters to NASA. The first was to nominate my teacher to join as the first civilian / teacher in space, and the second was to congratulate Christa McAuliffe for being chosen. A few years later, I went to her memorial site in the Calvary Cemetery in Concord, New Hampshire. I’m not alone. Tonight, while in Florida, at 6:24, I will turn to 45 degrees and watch the sky. God Bless, you four.

@adamscrabble As a footnote, at 17, I was in Army basic training when I got the word that Saddam invaded Kuwait. A DSGT told us in formation. To the Palantir analogy, I need to think on that, but would enjoy your expanding on it.

@davepl1968 Maybe you are right but I remember watching it in class. Maybe it was tape delayed, but the whole school watched.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
Jeremy London@SirJeremyLondon

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

I think a lot of the people that claim to have been watching it live were folks that were school-aged at that time. That launch had a disproportionate number of classrooms watching live because of Christa McAuliff being one of the crew members as a high school teacher. If it had been any other launch, yeah... nobody really watched them regularly. But a teacher going into space was a huge deal in schools.

I don’t know this person. He clearly is not one of my pears. This was a huge event, at least in the Quincy Massachusetts school system. We all planned on watching, and we watched, live. I can remember my walk home from school that day.

Full story: Mass. Governor Maura Healey unveiled a proposal Wednesday to install a 1,200-foot wind turbine in the Charles River, a structure officials say would be visible from the upper decks of Fenway Park and much of downtown Boston. State energy officials say the project would serve as a “symbol of Massachusetts’ climate leadership,” generating enough electricity to power thousands of homes while doubling as what one advisor called a “landmark of clean energy innovation.” Early estimates place the project’s cost north of $2 billion, though officials argue the turbine would help accelerate the state’s transition away from fossil fuels and could eventually become a tourist attraction along the Boston skyline. The proposal is expected to face scrutiny from residents and environmental groups, though state officials say the turbine would stand as “a bold statement about the Commonwealth’s commitment to the future of renewable energy.” #AprilFoolsDay

I’m with the former. He’ll say there is so little left. We’ve just about accomplished everything that was an objective. He’ll say that Europe should be thankful as this is in their backyard. He’ll say it is up to the region to capitalize on the work done. I also know in my heart that if the region would step up, we’d be there to help. Short of that, we, as the USA, don’t need it. that’s my current prediction. I don’t have a great track record. I supported the first Gulf war (trombone). Also a vet of that era.

Tom Massie is a grifter and a fraud who turned down a series of briefings on sensitive matters in order to rage post about them on X. He can’t deny these simple facts, he can only try to distract you. Massie is now bragging about an army of bots and his “ratios.” He’s a buffoon. Massie is a stain on this country and an embarrassment to his constituents. Thanks, and have a good morning. @RepThomasMassie
