@PHXTalk @ErikRuby I think every fan except fans of 7th seeded teams likes this format. Makes for better games and do or die situations. But from a fair standpoint, same reason 1 and 2 seeds don’t play each other first round of regular playoffs…they earned those positions all season…

I am honestly the most afraid of the Trail Blazers. Clearly Kawhi & Steph are the scariest individual players in elimination games, but I think Portland can expose some of the Suns' weaknesses the most.

Of course they have most to lose. But why should 7 and 8 not get bigger advantages? They should play worse teams to start. Playing each other to start gives 9 and 10 advantages for no reason. It’s not that complex and can be done. Current system makes road least advantageous for team that should have most advantages.

I think the whole point was to keep the lower seeds competing to try and minimize tanking - unfortunately that does come at the expense of the 7th seed

I get that the 7th seed technically doesnt gain anything but this only gives the 9th and 10th seeds something to gain if 8th cant move up

@PHXTalk @ErikRuby Simpler. If 7 and 8 win. We are done If 7 wins and 8 loses. 8 gets another game vs 9. They get 2 chances to beat them worst case. 7 should have most advantage. 8 next. And so on. Currently, this gives 8 the most to gain.

@jayhastings79 @ErikRuby How would that work then? 7v10 8v9 If 7 and 8 win they move to the "finals" in a traditional bracket. Winner gets the 7 seed and loser gets the 8 seed? What happens if 10 upsets 7 in the first round? 10vs8 winner gets 7th seed? Seems like a bigger disadvantage to 7 and 8

@PHXTalk @ErikRuby I’d still give them 2 games If they lose. 10 still has to play again. Why give any advantage to 8-10 over a 7 that’s earned it all year?

@ErikRuby Idk why it isn’t setup like a normal bracket Why wouldn’t 7 play the 10 seed, and 8 play the 9 seed? The biggest advantage is the 8 seed team. They can move to 7 with one win.

@JGSupremacy4 JG getting a full healthy offseason and training with the team is gonna work wonders. Having a team play basically 60 games and then try to insert a high level scorer isn't always easy. It'll take some but I believe the best version of Green is coming soon

Maturing is realizing Jalen Green was the best version of himself with Stephen Silas and his offensive development would've actually went even faster under him.
