I flew from SYD to DFW in a Quatas A380. At the time it was the longest scheduled flight in the world. Over 17 hours. Economy on the bottom level. First and Business Class on the top level. I was economy but in a 3 seat section with the middle seat empty. It proved to be a comfortable flight.

I’ve done it. Basically they convert an A350 into a flying gas can. They built the plane just for this route. Since they need so much fuel, they can’t have as many passengers. So it’s all just business class and first class. For the first part of the flight, you’re at low cruise altitude because the plane is so darn heavy with all the fuel that they can’t reach its maximum altitude until several hours into the flight. You are heading north for the first half of the flight and if you’re lucky, you’ll get a great view of the northern lights in winter. The service is among the very best you’ll ever get on commercial travel and the menu is a constant delight of delicious meals and snacks for the entire flight

Is “caffè americano” (replicating drip coffee by diluting espresso with water) meant to be something of a subtle dig? It is in fact how I prefer to drink coffee, but am I supposed to be feel a tad embarrassed when I order it? (It’s fine, I can handle it, but I’m just curious)

How much freight did the Elizabeth Line move? The 401 is the busiest truck route in North America and has been called a rolling warehouse. Without it the economy of Southern Ontario would collapse. The TTC’s Line 1 moves a huge number of people a day but they would all starve without the 401.

Fun fact: The new Elizabeth line in London moved more people in 2025 than Highway 401, the busiest freeway in North America.

In an era where people bemoan ownerships that drag clubs into the abyss, I find the bitterness towards Wrexham tedious. These two have done things the right way - invested in the club and community whilst not interfering with the day-to-day running of the club.

@ayeshaijazkhan It might be wise to wait until we see how Iran’s internal political situation changes. There is a chance that when the smoky clears the Gulf might be in an even better position as a regional hub.
