There is something to be said about the narrative and cinematic team's ability here. I genuinely can't believe what's likely to be my GOTY is a multiplayer extraction game.

Im not a fan of the marathon spectating third person POV. No idea what the rationale behind that is considering the game is first person but it sucks that I can’t see the game through my teammates eyes while they are trying to go for a crazy clutch or outplay to save the squad.

@CtrlAltDelrith You act like this doesn’t happen at literally every single studio. When a game has ran its lifespan they shift studio resources towards newer titles. Almost 10 year run on a single game is super rare idk why you’re even complaining tbh

Yeah so Marathon's cool and all but I definitely think the numbers are less about the game being good/bad and more about community goodwill. Burning several million players by basically torching a beloved franchise really didn't help, tbh. I can't play without feeling gross. I don't think I've ever been more grossed out at leadership decisions and disrespected as a player than I do by what Bungie did with Destiny 2 for the sake of Marathon, which should not be their focus. I'll say it again: I respect Todd Howard's lying more than I do the systematic destruction of a franchise and years of abuse towards a supportive community. This isn't even beginning to touch on the identity/intellectual theft from Marathon and all that stuff, or the abuse of the Bungie leadership towards Destiny 2 developers. Bungie kinda deserves the failure for how they've acted. That's my hot take.
