I would like to leave the world a better place than when I was born into it. Moms & dads of #disabled children fighting for #DisabilityRights it’s time for us to step in and step up for the rights of future generations. What do you think about a March on Washington?

“Fallout continues from the Miss USA resignations as a runner-up declines the crown - NPR” Note to self: #mentalhealth is real. No longer will people continue to assert that it’s a poverty driven problem. It’s a #USA problem. I stand with all #humanity apple.news/AmnuQ2nTfSoG76…

Reducing preschool slots for disabled children to a mere 5% and cutting $250 million for physically accessible play structures goes to show how disabled children are first to suffer the consequences of a poor state budget. “Placing my 4-year-old autistic son in a public preschool was a challenging and competitive process, and this only makes things harder for families like mine,” said Gregory Cramer, Senior Legislative Advocate for Disability Rights California. “Data clearly demonstrates that early intervention at school leads to better outcomes for disabled students. Balancing the budget on the backs of disabled children is mean spirited — it is a shame Governor Newsom would wish to undermine our children’s futures,” Cramer added. In addition to reducing the number of preschool slots, the Newsom Administration proposes to claw back $250 million to make preschool playgrounds physically accessible to the students using them. “The Adaptive Physical Education program at my son’s preschool avoided using the playground equipment since my son was not able to access it. Teachers should not have to depend on secondary play equipment to serve their students,” Cramer said. The Governor has until June 15 to enact a final budget. It is our demand to shield and build out these vital preschool opportunities for disabled youth. Learn more here: edsource.org/2024/newsom-pr…

About 35 states include disability as grounds for termination of parental rights. It’s time to address the misconception that disabled people are unable or unfit to parent, and take control of our own reproductive choices. #DisCoRepro

A man just collapsed at the ATL airport. Unresponsive. Not breathing. Turning blue. All in an instant, strangers raced to his aid—some administering CPR, others grabbing the defibrillators nearby—as several of us stood praying. After a scary minute or so, he kicked a leg and started breathing, It would be another 5 minutes before paramedics arrived on the scene. Were it not for the immediate action taken by those strangers—people who knew nothing about this man, people who would soon scatter to their own destinations, people this man will never get the opportunity to thank—he would be dead right now, headed to the morgue instead of home to his family. A vivid reminder of our shared humanity. One I won’t soon forget.

I've given my heart to so many people I try my hardest to be a good person they always end up leaving me for someone who cheats and hurts them then they say there's no good men when they have someone who's willing to give them everything and not ask for anything in return

Good Morning…please read this quote & let it “sink in.” 1 in 5 children are now diagnosed with a #disability ; we must change the narrative surrounding disability. It is time to honor, respect and embrace our differences, while seeing the beauty in those differences. Let’s let indifference die; not each other. #Solidarity #love #Disabled #Healing

"The fact that many people would rather have a dead child than a disabled one is genuinely heartbreaking. And much of this can be solved with a more accessible and aware society with better healthcare."- @puneetsinghal22 #AXSChat #WeAreBillionStrong #DisabilityInclusion #a11y
