The Global Sumud Flotilla is on its way - again - toward Israel. And of course Barcelona offered itself as the launch point for the “selfie yacht” and its Israel-obsessed crew. Since October 7th, Spain 🇪🇸 and Barcelona in particular, has exceeded all expectations when it comes to antisemitism. Here are a few examples: 🇪🇸 Barcelona officially declared “Palestine” its symbolic 11th district and committed public funds to UNRWA, an organization deeply infiltrated by Hamas. 🇪🇸 Spanish bank Sabadell froze bank accounts following a new royal decree “against the genocide in Gaza.” 🇪🇸 Around 2,000 Free Palestine protesters gathered outside Hapoel Jerusalem’s hotel in Barcelona, harassing and hunting the team. 🇪🇸 The city organized a massive “concert for Palestine” where Israel was erased from the map. During the event, the son of convicted terrorist Marwan Barghouti, responsible for the murder of at least five civilians, was invited on stage to call for his father’s release, cheered by thousands. 🇪🇸 An anonymous group behind the project Barcelonaz published an online map identifying all Jewish-owned businesses in Catalonia. 🇪🇸 A Maccabi Tel Aviv game was held in Barcelona without an audience because authorities could not guarantee the players’ safety. 🇪🇸 Spain withdrew from Eurovision to avoid sharing the stage with a Jewish artist. 🇪🇸 The University of Barcelona launched “Facultat 18,” a project explicitly designed to raise and transfer funds to UNRWA, whose staff participated in the October 7 massacre. 🇪🇸 Over the past two years, antisemitic graffiti has appeared in hundreds of locations across the city. 🇪🇸 Emboldened by anti-Israel and pro-Hamas rhetoric, antisemites desecrated a Jewish cemetery. 🇪🇸 A group of 50 Jewish children were violently removed by police from a Vueling flight after staff heard a single word spoken in Hebrew. The situation has deteriorated so badly that Jewish institutions are now urging universities to suspend exchange programs with Barcelona. Barcelona and the Hamas flotilla are a match made in heaven.
