If you're reading this, you're probably wrong, and DEFINITELY too angry. But it's okay, not everybody can be correct about everything.

Ian McKellen roasted Donald Trump on the #AvengersDoomsday set. The Russo Brothers directed McKellen “to look more furious” during an action scene where Magneto wreaks havoc with his powers, the actor remembered: “[They told me to] make it look as if you hate what you’re destroying. So I stood there and I shouted: ‘Mar-a-Lago!’” McKellen previously slammed Trump during his first presidency for failing to protect LGBTQ+ rights, telling Variety at the time: “It’s appalling and quite unnecessary and very un-American... I can’t follow Mr. Trump. He’s a very bad communicator, at least to me. Get more straightforward, Donald. And then we can take you seriously.” variety.com/2026/film/news…

His original “bull nose” made him look like a psychopathic country farm boy, but in the way where if he took you out back to the shed as a young teen and stole your innocence, you might not know you were taken advantage of until somebody told you when you casually shared the story many years later. You’d spend years thinking you must be an insatiable nymphomaniac, pulling up your shirt in the shed for all the guys in town, not realizing it was because this guy sent you down a dark road. The new nose makes him look like someone you’d know violated you, and you’d want to tell on him to ruin his reputation before he gets to graduate and maybe become a senator, while you drop out of high school to self-harm and do drugs. Vulgar description, I know, but if looks can kill, they can do a lot of other scathing things that determine its measure, and if we’re being honest, I’d say that’s a huge component of the looksmaxxing project.

Ledger did this in every scene. Every actor who shared a frame with him in this film describes the same thing. The interrogation room. Bale kept telling Ledger he didn't need to actually hit him. "It's going to look just as good if I don't." Ledger's answer: "Go on. Go on. Go on." Slammed himself into tiled walls hard enough to crack and dent them. Bale called the commitment "total." He refused to rehearse the full Joker. No voice, no laugh, no mannerisms until the camera rolled. Every scene partner walked into take one completely blind. The money throw at Chin Han was improvised. The hospital explosion was rehearsed a dozen times with Nolan until the timing looked accidental. The hostage video was shot by Ledger alone, handheld, no crew. Nolan used the footage because a professional setup couldn't replicate it. Ledger mapped every scene to a different technique. Improvisation when genuine shock mattered. Choreography when safety required precision. Solo footage when authenticity required zero audience. The most chaotic villain performance in superhero film history was built on surgical scene-by-scene preparation. The film made $1 billion. He won a posthumous Oscar, only the second actor in history to do so. He died six months before it opened. He was 28.

In The Dark Knight (2008), Heath Ledger improvised the throw where The Joker throws a stack of money at Lau during this scene. Actor Chin Han recalled, “It hit me square in the head... it goes like ‘boom.’” “And then I was dazed for a second. And that was the first take..”

@aakashgupta The most overrated performance in my lifetime. The writing was better than the acting. He got the Oscar because he was method and OD'd. Shoulda been this masterful performance:

Colin Jost says #SNL scrapped a joke about Pete Hegseth reading "Pulp Fiction" Bible verse two weeks before it happened in real life. The writers thought it was "too ridiculous." Jost told the “SNL” writers room: “Would it be funny if Hegseth just did that Bible verse that they have in ‘Pulp Fiction’ Remember, from Ezekiel, Samuel L. Jackson?” The writers also thought the joke “would take up all this time in the cold open. And then [Hegseth] for real did it, like two weeks later and I was like, ‘Well, the good news is, I’m being surveilled, so that’s a relief.’” variety.com/2026/tv/news/c…

After 9 years of identifying as a woman, I am detransitioning. I know this is shocking. I know this is sudden. It's sudden for me too. It would be a lie if I said "I've been thinking about this for a while", because I haven't. It took about 15 seconds for me to make this decision from the moment I saw the huge queue to the female bathrooms at London Waterloo. For the next 2 minutes, I identify as a man.
