Outside this church is a plaque detailing key years "Church interior reordered to facilitate the full, conscious and active participation of the faithful, reflecting the insights of the Second Vatican Council." Unfortunately, the reordering just looks very dated now...

Homeless people are using dogs to test drugs for them on Skid Row in Los Angeles, California. Non-profit group Starts With One Today says dogs are being abused, thrown away, sold for drugs, neglected, and fed drugs to make sure there is no fentanyl. Animal advocates are ripping Mayor Karen Bass and other elected officials for not taking enough action. “We’re coming out here, risking our lives to help these dogs with no support from the government,” said volunteer Joey Tuccio.

Hey Jay... imma keep it hundo with ya, big dawg: That photo was 100% taken on a navy ship. The blue table covering is the same exact fake-ish leather blue covering they put on the tables in the mess decks. The deck matches the white spots on blue deck color. The bulkheads are dark black at the base, followed by white, which is the same colorscheme. It's even rounded on the corner. That meal looks very legit for what they could serve. I've been personally served the bbq tacos. There's a chance the people who took the photos only grabbed one or two items from the galley and posted it online. But if they're on battle rations, that can be pretty brutal too.

Pictures published by USA Today show meals served recently to Sailors onboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), as well as Marines serving on the USS Tripoli (LHA-7), an America-class amphibious assault ship, both of which are currently deployed to the Arabian Sea in order to enforce the ongoing naval blockade against coastal areas of Iran.

In July 1942, Tech5 Edwin E. Ross lost his life in a POW camp after fighting for our country in WWII.   Tomorrow, he finally comes home to Mississippi.   I’ve proclaimed Friday as a day of mourning to honor Tech5 Ross and his sacrifice.

Today, we were honored to celebrate U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Jason Pacheco as he moves into his mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home built by the Gary Sinise Foundation. From a young age, Jason discovered a natural talent for shooting - a skill that would ultimately lead him to the Marine Corps and into the Scout Sniper Platoon. After graduating at the top of his class and earning the title of High Shooter, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 as a Scout Sniper Team Leader. Just three months into his deployment, Jason was pinned down in a four-hour firefight. While conducting a battle damage assessment, he stepped on an improvised explosive device. The blast caused a traumatic brain injury, a below-the-knee amputation, a fractured femur, blown eardrums, and widespread shrapnel injuries. Through months of intense recovery, Jason pushed himself to heal and return to the Marines he had promised to stand beside. Less than a year after his injuries, he became one of the first three Marine Corps amputees to return to a combat zone on full duty, a testament to his determination, resilience, and commitment to his fellow Marines. Today, Jason continues to move forward with strength and purpose, raising his children and participating in adaptive sports, including hockey and track, with hopes of one day competing at the Paralympic level. This home will provide Jason with the accessibility, independence, and stability he deserves as he continues building his life forward. Jason shared, "We have our forever home, thank you is not enough."
