@masatoalexander Mmm yeah I set a cut off of 40 for having any more kids, I’m 40 this year and struggling a bit with the 8 month old, but at least as she’s my third, I know what I’m doing by now. Definitely would not want to be doing it for the first time over 40.

had my first kid at... 22. highly recommend, nothing like being responsible for someone else to make you grow up. feel for my friends in their late 30s having their first kid - can't imagine having the energy to keep up with a little one for the first time then.

@eevblog obviously it's a false dichotomy, but I'd still choose free speech. A country should have one culture, and people should be encouraged to integrate with it. Multi-ethnic is fine, but multi-cultural is probably not such a good thing, it tends to mean ghettos.

According to the NSW premier, Australians need to choose between free speech and multiculturalism, we can't have both. What say you Australians?

It’s a bit disheartening to see how the crypto space has played out for some. People who spent 5-10 years deeply exploring blockchains, building protocols, and taking real risks on the frontier are often the ones who’ve been wiped out or left struggling. Meanwhile, someone who passively bought BTC or ETH once in 2016, forgot about it, and just held on is likely in a much better position today. The irony is brutal: the system that rewards risk-taking and innovation often punishes those who embody it most. The early builders and explorers were the ones testing unproven tech, experimenting with new ideas, and creating the foundation for what exists now. They took on the uncertainty when no one else cared—and yet many of them are worse off than those who stayed passive. This isn’t to diminish the value of holding or staying disciplined—it’s a valid strategy—but it feels like a betrayal of the ethos of this space when those who pushed boundaries end up sidelined while passive participants reap outsized rewards. Maybe this is just how markets work—rewarding patience over activity—but it raises questions about how we value contribution vs. speculation. Are we building systems that truly incentivize innovation, or just rewarding those who play the long game with minimal effort? To anyone who feels burned by being “too early” or “too involved,” know this: your work mattered. The protocols, ideas, and experiments you contributed to are part of why this space exists at all. The market may not reward you now, but history will remember.

@Jane14457995 collateralized small business loans are the killer Defi feature for me, especially with bank lending almost not moving in some countries (including my own) at the moment.

Can DeFI maxis please explain to me what they see as the intrinsic value of DeFi, with current capabilities? Is it just a better interest-bearing bank account? Is it just a potentially cheaper way to trade? I'm pretty sure I'm missing something, b/c neither of these options can

after being away from england for 6 years i’m seriously considering moving back home and to put it to the test i’m going on a date with a lad from birmingham (not my first choice location wise but it’s ok) for the record - i’ve only dated canadian and german lads since being away so il let you know what i decide after the date

@masatoalexander Mmm yes there has been a lot of talk about this in the uk lately. Standard process is for companies and IP to get founded in the UK, then as soon as it approaches a marketable product, the company moves to California as that’s where the funding is. Can confirm my company did this

@NicolasC3rny potentially. I stepped out of governance debate quite a while ago when I realised it was gonna be a nightmare that I don't really wanna be involved in. I just hope it works out okay in the end, and if it doesn't, I'll fork the chain or (more likely) start a new one from genesis
