The @ofgem boss saying “We are also seeing the return of choice to the market... customers could benefit from shopping around with a range of tariffs now available offering the security of a fixed rate or a more flexible deal that tracks below the price cap." I think that is pushing it a bit. There is one tariff only avail for eon next customers thats below the price cap. There are no standalone cheap fixes that are worth moving to that don't require you to switch other utilities too.

Energy price cap is UP 5% ON 1 Jan (so every £100 you pay now will be £105 then) making energy more expensive for 20m+ homes in Eng, scot and wales. Just digging through the detail now will update soon.

@edfenergy Don’t worry I’ll be asking for a manager on Monday, but for those who want to know, I bought a house but didn’t move in straight away. When I did move in I moved my current supplier to new house. @edfenergy decided to erroneous set up contract in my name and are trying to charge

@KarlTurnerMP Yet more Tory gaslighting. My own supplier crowed about the price cap changes then a mail from Money Saving Expert confirmed my bills would still be high due to the standing charges. And all the while the likes of British Gas make record profits.
