@TheKouk High school students?
From China?
Don’t tell me. Some neoliberal boomer fake economics.
Wealthy Australia cannot afford to fund high school education without extracting school fees from Chinese with annual incomes of less than $US10,000?
Pathetic.
Fails the pub test.

Excellent decision. It was a massive over reaction

#BREAKING: The Government has announced strict exemptions allowing Chinese high-school students caught up in the coronavirus travel ban to return to Australia.

@ErmoPlumber @matt_barrie Agreed this could be the Coalition's pink batts moment.

@matt_barrie @TedGaribaldi How about the absolute crucifixion of Peter Garrett after those 4 insulation installer deaths.
Garrett dared not point out that the number of deaths was average for the turnover of work performed during that huge stimulus spend.
lets hope this time media is equally unforgiving

@AvidCommentator @kary_cee Why have we become so dependent on these income streams? I have no pity for a sector with such a one dimensional business model.
English

@kary_cee For the moment it's just HS students, but it's likely a pilot program for uni students as census dates approach.
Its certainly tough & I have a great deal of sympathy for individual students.
But frankly I think the unis should be adapting better with more online options.

Do you support the Morrison government ending the China travel ban, for Chinese high school students returning to Australia to study?

On the eve of a global pandemic our customs are being loosened putting thousands at risk. What exactly does this Govt stand for?

@abcnews What an absolute disaster. Our greed will kill us. They can be home schooled like so many remote kids are in Australia in natural disasters.

@AvidCommentator Why is secondary schooling for foreign students an income stream?
English

The ScoMo govt has partially lifted the China travel ban
Allowing high school students into the country to study
States & territories must agree for their entry to be allowed
This is a huge risk being taken with the health of the Australian public

@pfh007 They are big Oz but let Judith Sloane have say. Much better at diversity of opinion than smh.

@TedGaribaldi I was testing whether the Oz would walk the talk when it comes to freedom of speech. The moderation is generally very good.

That's a terrific letter. The Liberals own this policy so when it tanks its their fault.

Nanny state regulation in @woollahramc - literally a nanny, Suze Rich, head of regulatory. Why was she patrolling a pub at 945pm with a clipboard writing up infractions? “I don’t discuss this with patrons”. I said I’m a constituent. She wrote down my name. #nswpol #auspol

@fonforest @AJT_1980 @WiggumCharm Went to a year one celebrity day as Gary Birtles in a red Adidas Originals shirt. The class sat in silence thinking WTF. Did all over again in 4th grade with a Heaven 17 cassette.
English

@fonforest @AJT_1980 @WiggumCharm Funny. I'm a 40 year Forest fan from Sydney. My dads family is from Nottingham. As sad as it sounds I can't break the knot, the thrill, the disappointment of following them. This said I follow Sydney FC and Australia pretty closely. Have travelled to wcq and Asia Cup games.

Excellent article. Laser like in focus on the problems afflicting Australia. Pretend capitalists who want all the rewards yet none of the risks. Your ability to influence and lobby is more important than innovation.
