Trillionaires shouldn't exist and neither should billioniares. Tax every penny in net worth over $999 million at 100%. We can have extreme wealth concentration or a democracy but we can't have both at the same time. Pick one.

Every boat that arrives brings a question along with the migrants: what kind of world have we built, if so many brothers and sisters must risk death to seek life? Human dignity demands legal and safe pathways, rescue and assistance, real cooperation against traffickers, effective protection for victims, serious processes of reception and integration, and policies that allow every person to live with dignity in their own land. We cannot grow accustomed to counting the dead. Human dignity has no passport and does not lose its value when crossing a border. #ApostolicJourney

Consumer Competition Claims (CCC), through GameClaim, has launched a new class action against Valve in the Netherlands. The group claims Valve controls around 85% of the PC game market and uses rules that make it harder for developers to sell games cheaper on other stores. It also argues that Steam’s 30% cut on game sales is too high and shows anti-competitive behaviour. According to CCC, Dutch gamers have paid more than they should due to these practices, with total damages estimated at over €220 million since 2013.. The group says it will first try to reach a settlement with Valve. If that fails, the case could go to court and may take several years to resolve.

“Steam’s 30% cut on game sales is too high and shows anti-competitive behaviour” Then CCC would have to also go after the PlayStation store, XBox’s store, Apple, Samsung, and Huawei app stores, and GOG too because they ALL take a 30% cut. Huh, it’s almost like it’s pretty much the industry standard or something.

"Dear migrants, before saying anything else to you, I want to bow before your dignity. You are not just numbers or files," Pope Leo XIV said in a meeting with organizations working with migrants at the Port of Arguineguína in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. In his address the Pope also called governments and international institutions to share the responsibility in addressing migration. Europe "cannot claim to uphold human dignity while growing accustomed to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic becoming unmarked graves," he insisted.

it's funny how Valve spanked an actual Rothschild in court and then all of a sudden a bunch of these weird spurious lawsuits popped up it's bullshit btw they're not a monopoly and 30% cut is quite literally industry standard you pay that to sell on Nintendo/Sony/Xbox consoles
