The moment you feel you have to defend your life (being attacked while trapped in a car door) you fire your weapon until the treat is eliminated or lose the argument that you believe your life was in danger. There is no warning shots, or firing only until person stops threatening. It’s all or nothing because you are defending your life against theirs! Any argument saying he went overboard does not understand the use of deadly force. The argument would be that you shot him while running because once you pull your weapon who knows what weapon the treat may have so eliminate them immediately by firing until they are dead!
