Global oil companies abandon their oil on a corroding tanker (me!) off the coast of Yemen and then rely on the rest of the world to spend public monies to avert a ticking time bomb that the oil companies themselves left behind. Absurd!

This is undoubtedly great news, but @UN_News_Centre also buries the lead: The work can only begin "once the $75m pledged for phase one is secured" Just as much activism and pressure as was needed to earn the pledges is necessary to ensure funds are disbursed #FSOSafer #Yemen
