I can fix America, but no one has asked me. So now I am just going to tell you. I read a book once- “Don’t start the revolution without me.” Then the writer took off for Mexico to live on the beach and forget about America. I guess I need to start the revolution without him. You’ll notice when reading this I will not mention the Bill of Rights, or even the Declaration of Independence. I do not think we need to change these at all. I might even add some rights. I think people have a right to some water, a right to nutritious food, a right to have a roof over their head to protect them from the elements. My 7thGreat Grandfather William Stone came to the continent in 1619 and helped in the founding of the Town of Providence, now Annapolis. later served as the 3rdproprietary Governor of Maryland. My Fifth Great Uncle Thomas Stone signed the Declaration of Independence. I kind of feel I have, at least, a slight credential. If not a calling to, at least give an idea how to fix the country my family quite literally helped create. 56 men signed that document. I don’t know how many people, today, are either direct descendants of the founding fathers, or in my case, indirect. Now, before you say anything about my white privilege, and advantages of growing up in a legacy American Family. My Stone family Tree lost everything in the Great Depression. So since then, we’ve been the same as the rest of you. And before you say any disparaging things about America, know that we were the first country to use democracy as a government. No Dictatorship. No monarchy. No kings and queens. No government ran by a religion. The people voted for their representation, and leadership. It had never happened before us. And because of this, since 1776, almost 250 years of our democracy, hundreds of countries all over the globe have held elections for their leadership. We can talk all day about the legitimacy of some of those elections, but the idea of Democracy is there. This country is awesome. But it is not great. It has not been great for a long time, if ever actually. I first want to talk about one of the major issues in politics that no one talks about and is seemingly looked over. Probably because we don’t have a good way to fix it (yet) And, full disclosure, I do not have any idea on how to fix it. Campaign Finance. On average someone in congress needs to raise around 15 thousand dollars per day. -did you read that? 15 thousand dollars per day. That is almost 5.5 million dollars that they need to raise, per year for a job that pays 174,000 dollars at most, per year. No one sees an issue with this? No ones sees a huge issue with this? You all understand we are literally electing these assholes to raise money for their campaign. You understand we are paying these people 174,000 per year to raise money, right? They are supposed to be writing and reviewing legislation, laws, and programs, and working on the Federal Budget and improving American lives. But they need to raise 5.5 million dollars first. How can they get anything else done? I understand they, themselves, do not do this alone. But what is the point in this? We need to stop this nonsense, and this needs to stop right now. It cannot continue. 5.5 million dollars per year for 535 members of congress. That is damn near 3 billion dollars a year. (Where is that money in the actual economy? How much of this 3 billion is just for ads? How much of it is just for attack ads? I guess it’s cool they’re giving people jobs; but these are jobs that do not need to exist, these people can be doing better things. In 2020 5+ billion was spent on the presidential races alone. People… five billion. How do we change this? This next section will be (just my ideas, that I have no way of knowing if it would work or be possible. But like I said, I do not know how to fix this. I just know it is one of the most important fixes that needs to be done.) Personally, I think TV spots should be free for people running for elected office. Social Media ads should also be free. BUT these things should be capped at the amount we as civilians are subjected to. oH fUcK yOu AnD yOuR sOcIaLiSm YoU fUcKiNg CoMmY! Some things need to be socialized. Because some things are, in fact, bigger than you and me. An elected job should be important. Social Media is free, and most people use some form of it. Why can’t we make these people rely on it more? AOC no matter what you think of her absolutely kills it on social media. Why can’t everyone else? The election cycle should only be 6 months. How much money would this save? Especially for the presidential run, which feels like it is 4 years long. Literally, are these people ever not campaigning? It costs 3 billion per year for these people to run, (and by the way, this is just for the people who win…. How much money total is raised? And then lost, because it isn’t like the losers are getting their TV money, yard signs, pamphlets, and pin money back, to be refunded.) In 2020 it was north of 8 BILLION. EIGHT BILLION. We spent 13 BILLION dollars in 2020. I know, I know, that number isn’t even real. “Dr Evil that kind of money doesn’t even exist!” How we miss simpler times. 13,000,000,000.00 Can’t we figure this into the Federal Budget, and I am sure we could lower the cost of a campaign by a lot if we changed some things. Those who wish to run for congress already need to collect signatures from their hopeful voters. The number differs from state to state, and as well it should. States do have rights, and they have their own elections. Raise the number, make it harder to obtain, make it so only very serious people can run. And by serious, I mean people who are going to take it seriously. Once the signatures are gathered, and accounted for, these people can be allotted a set amount of money they will need. Again, we can control all the costs, especially if we control the duration of the campaigns. Can we also do away with the yard signs please? You want a sign in your yard? Make one. Drive through Northeast Ohio, you’ll see all the handmade TRUMP 2020 signs you need. It’s 2023 people, it’s over. I don’t think I have any more ideas, yet, to stop these assholes from perpetually needing to raise money. The pamphlets and the pins and stickers can go too. Why are these still a thing? TWO PARTIES Let’s talk about the two-party system. Why do we still have this? Republican Democrat Libertarian Forward Green MAGA Tea Past the word Democrat, none of these are real. I say this as a self-identified-Liberal-leaning Libertarian. Why have parties at all? Why have Republicans, and Democrats? Why have the Right and the Left, the Blue, Yellow, Green? Why not just have Citizen representatives? No political party to divide us into enemies. You run on your policies you want to enact. We vote for the best one. We do this now, only these losers get to trick us by what color tie they wear. So many people vote against their own interests because their candidate calls himself the right word. MONEY Let’s talk about money. Let’s talk about the longest lasting Revolutionary War in the history of earth. The Revolutionary War that corporations and banks have been waging for most of our lives to take control of the government. And we’re just so happy to let them win for 2%APR on a home loan. Well, it’s 7% now and the homes you overpaid for in 2020 are going to tank. Thanks Blackrock, I LoVe ThE fReE mArKeT! Says every Libertarian dork whose been groomed into Stockholm Syndrome. I love the Free Market too, but it’s time we make an addendum on that too. But that is for later. And this, folks might be the biggest issue we’re facing. (it’s either this or the ridiculous cost to run for congress.) We need to get money out of politics. I personally think Lobbying, should be treason. And I mean punishable by execution, for all parties involved. The congressperson who took the money. The lobbyist. The entire board of the company. No trial needed either. Was money, or favor, or gift of any kind exchanged? Guillotine. Or Axe. Public TV. Was money, gifts, or favor offered but denied? The Lobbyist and the Board of the company are executed. Give the official of the government an award. Make the award something small and metal, maybe made of pennies. It’s not worth anything, it is just the idea of it all. Plain and simple, lobbying needs to be illegal. That document that a lot of people are so hung up starts off with “WE THE PEOPLE” I know this for a few reasons. I’ve read it, and I see it tattooed on republicans a lot. That document doesn’t say “WE THE CEO” or “WE THE LLC” or “WE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.” -I will say this again in another section, but ALL laws passed should be to protect citizens, giving companies ZERO thought. You want a company? You want a billion dollars? Go for it, but in no way can you exploit another human on your path to getting there. Get money out of the government. The first step is to make lobbying illegal. Step 2 give a raise to everyone in the government. Pay congress $300,000 grand per year. The speaker of the house $350,000 The Majority and Minority Leader of the Senate $350,000 The president pro tempore of the senate $350,000 Then, and I mean Buckle up, make it so these people cannot make a single penny, in any other way while in congress. And I mean their spouse too. Their entire household. This isn’t a money-making scheme, this is a civil servant job, Boys and girls risk their lives fighting with the American flag on their backs for this country, for $50,000 a year. These grifters in empty suits don’t need to be millionaires. We’re going to need to hire an oversite team for this, luckily the IRS exists. Members of Congress already have jobs and speaking gigs lined up when they retire, these people will be okay with $300,000 a year. The money needs to be high though, you want actual capable people to want to come and do this. DISINFORMATION, MISINFORMATION, LYING, JUST BEING WRONG. You want to fix politics? You can’t very well hold a private citizen accountable. We do have freedom of speech, but this wasn’t intended to make it so people can lie. Actually, it was the opposite. It was so journalistic people could hold accountable those in politics who weren’t sincere, or honest with their intentions with the public. If you are running for Official Office, any governmental office where you will be able to have influence on the public and effect peoples lives. Politicians lying should be illegal. Lying about the bill you are writing, lying about your opponent, lying about how much money you make. We as citizens deserve the truth. So fine these people for being wrong. And fine them a lot. Fine them so it hurts, so they can’t just keep doing it. Even make a running tab. You’ve been “wrong 5 times this year.” You’re expelled from congress and can no longer run for office. Sorry, sucks to suck, sucker, learn to be better. Your job is important. If a doctor messes up and cuts something off or out of someone that wasn’t supposed to be they get sued into the next realm. If they misdiagnose people, a doctor gets sued. You want to be a Senator? Good, don’t be wrong. Research what you are talking about. We are paying you a lot of money, stop being “wrong” stop being “mistaken” stop “lying.” Step 3. I have had this idea for a while, and admittedly, I have not done the proper leg work in theorizing this fully. To be honest, I do not know if I even have the intellect. When a country wants to do business with America. The tax is the company must be a publicly traded company. 30% ownership of that company for America. And 25% of the board seats at that company for American oversite. Then, anything that is paid for by the public is then owned by the public. An example of this is most medicine, or at least a lot of it, is publicly funded. With donations, and government subsidies. Then the university (which is usually who develops these.) sells the Patent for the drug to the highest bidder. THEN… that medicine that the university did not have to pay out of pocket to develop gets paid hundreds of millions by a large pharmaceutical company. Then that pharmaceutical company sends the Patent to China to make the medicine. Stealing American jobs. Then the most egregious thing happens. That pharmaceutical company charges Americans and insurance companies 5000% what it costs to create. No. This needs to stop, immediately. Once the university creates that medicine, that medicine should be owned by the people who paid for it. The American People. The university can sell the medicine to the Government, to produce in America, and to be sold outside of America. American’s, however, will not be paying for this medication. If we need it, we get it. We’ve already paid for it. All of this is to offset tax’s charge to Americans. If there is ever a scenario where Americans no longer need to be taxed, the Government can keep 50% of all excess, for “future needs.” The rest of the excess is to be distributed to the people. In other investments, infrastructure, public buildings, social help, healthcare. TERM LIMITS Democrats and Libertarians have been screaming about term limits for years, republicans, because of Joe Biden are now on board. Did you see Mitch have a full-blown stroke, or a dementia freeze on live TV…. twice? We need term limits, and age restrictions. We need an age limit. What is the retirement age in America, 67? That should be your limit, the only exception is, if you get elected and you’re one year away from retirement age, you can finish your full term, but cannot run again. This would apply to all government jobs. 30 years is fine as the youngest you can run. Now on to Term limits Let’s tackle this from the top down. The President. How wild is it that the President is the most important human alive and the citizens elect this person, on, at best, ill-informed opinions, and ideas - and sometimes simply because of “color” he associates with. The President should not run a 4-year term. They should run one 6-year term. As of now, a president gets elected, and they have 2 years to do anything. Then, they need to start campaigning for the next election. HOW DUMB IS THIS? Then, finally, if they win, they get to do some governing, for at least 3 years until they must stump for the next guy coming in on their side. Give these dorks 6 years. And then make it so they can endorse, but not give speeches on behalf of their team when the next election cycle comes along. As for the Senate and the House. Give them 3 terms. Make each term 4 years. They get a full three and half years to govern, then they campaign for 6 months. The Supreme Court. Retirement Age 67. The members of the Supreme Court are to adhere to the same rules as the Senate, as it pertains to earning money. The Supreme Court should have one 10-year term. This isn’t the 1700’s people aren’t wise and seasoned because they are older. There is no need for a lifetime position in the government. BILLS and POLICY This is a good one. Not, like in writing style, but I think I have come up with a pretty good idea to better America. First, all legislation needs to be no more than 500 words. We are paying you to do this for us. Figure out how to write the legislation in as few words as possible. Policy might require more words. I cannot imagine writing welfare policy in 500 words. But we need to establish an “as low as possible maximum.” Look to science journals to learn more about being succinct. Be succinct. Be specific. Be certain. Each law, each legislation, each amendment the House and Senate try and pass into Law must be voted on separately. I do not care how long this will take. We are paying you to do this. No more Pork-Barrell-Spending. Pork-barrel spending is the inclusion of unrelated projects or provisions in a bill to secure benefits for specific constituencies or special interests.” One law. One vote. No more back door deals. We’re trying to limit the government. Quit adding senseless nonsense. If you want your district to build tank parts, figure it out. Any member of congress who authors a bill, that is passed and signed into Law that directly makes life worse for the citizens of America is to be immediately expelled from their seat and sent to Leavenworth for what would be the remainder of their term, and any remaining terms allowed; they are to be fined the total money paid to them while in office and for the rest of their term and are ineligible for reelection. If this bill passes in their last term, this is to be considered treason and we need to oil up the Guillotine. Any member of congress who endorsed such bill, is immediately expelled from Congress are ineligible for reelection, and fined the total money paid to them while in office and for the rest of their term. Any members who voted for the bill to pass, will be immediately expelled from their seat are ineligible for reelection. The same end of term limit rule will apply to all. If any of these actions take place in a congressperson’s final year of allowance, the action is to be considered treason. The death penalty does not need to apply to those who simply voted on a bill. Any member of Congress who authors a bill that is shown to be a waste of time will not be allowed to vote in any votes for the remainder of their term, and fined their current terms pay, for wasting the country’s time. If you need an example of this, look to the prohibition laws of the 1930’s. This would count both as a law that overtly limits the rights of an American for no real purpose, and will be considered harming an American citizen. no more bills to be signed renaming buildings, unless something truly inspiring happens. Why do we waste so much time renaming libraries and post offices? THE BUDGET As for budget, and the deficit – why is there such a thing? Why do we need to borrow so much money in order to support our government? Why do we allow it? Warren Buffett was once quoted as stating a way to fix the budget. “Anytime the Deficit is 3% more than the GDP all sitting members of congress are ineligible for reelection.” I like it, even though I have read reports that he never said this. But why have a budget? What is the equivalent government spending in comparison to Avocado Toast? How can Congress men and women enter their new job with no real money, “work for the American people” at a job that pays them 174 thousand a year, and leave millionaires? ALL THESE PEOPLE WORK AT THE GOVERNMENT, WHY CAN’T THE GOVERNMENT GET THESE INVESTMENT RETURNS? Why is there a deficit at all? Why do we accept this? Remove Congressional Tenure Pension. You can have a 401K, and social security like the rest of us. Let’s hope it’s solvent when you retire. REGULATIONS The Libertarians who were almost on board with this are now going to dox me. Guess what, again, own your business, make all the money you want, literally make all the money. But unless you can do this without hurting the American civilians, the climate, poisoning the water, you don’t deserve to make your billions. Working regulations. No worker should need to work overtime. Family, rest, and alone time are more important than making plastic ATV shells. The minimum wage should not be a living wage, it needs to be a comfort wage. What’s a comfort wage? It is an amount of money you make that lets you live comfortably. And do not let IG trick you into what is comfort. We do not need Yachts. We do not need supercars. We need a home. We need some land to enjoy. We need the means to pay our bills on time. We need the means to repair our vehicles when they break down. We need the means to repair things that break in our home. We need the means to be able to save money. We need the means to be able to travel away and vacation. A vacation is not frivolous, it is needed for mental health. We need an honest assessment as to what amount of money we can live comfortably. Pay a worker in such a way they can live comfortably, and you can hire someone to help you with whatever it is you are trying to do. Also, a four-day work week needs to happen. And before you call me “a lazy millennial” know that several times in my life I have worked many years without one day off. And I would be willing to put the number of overtime hours I have clocked up against almost anyone else. How does this happen? I don’t know; you figure it out. There should be zero legislation allowing a company to pollute any water source, or the air. Seriously, how is this a thing? How is it any legislation is written that helps a corporation at the expense of the American citizens? A corporation is not a person. A corporation doesn’t get a vote. A corporation should not be able to donate to political causes. Seriously, the government is up in arms because Brian thinks he’s Brenda, but Apple is allowed to identify as a person? As of 2019 to produce 80 million dollars’ worth of pennies it costs 136 million dollars. It takes 1.7 cents to make one cent. Make that make sense. 2/3 of these pennies NEVER circulate. 2/3 of Americans have admitted to throwing away pennies. The reason pennies exist is because of “Americans for Common Cents.” It is a lobbying group created to protect the penny. Who funds this group? Saudi Arabia has fully restored East-West oil pipeline, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz and pumping 7,000,000 barrels per day. Iran just lost the only card they had left, controlling the Straight of Hormuz. They should have taken the deal.
