@james_xond I agree but 55. That's why you start saving 25-35% of your pay when you started working and invest it. Any less and you really don't want that.

Not everyone will agree, but retirement should be encouraged at 50. I’m 34 and it makes no sense to spend your best years working just to finally enjoy life when those years are gone.

@Grace75441 @yuki_toushika It's worse because if we could control the money that was taken by social security it would be enough to retire on. Meaning it would be much higher value. Unfortunately the amount you receive at age 68 is not enough to live. About 300,000 yen a month.

@yuki_toushika So for Americans we are forced to lose 15% of pay for social security which will run out of money in 2036. Then we try to save 10-15% of our pay in 401k. Lower wage people can only do 2-4% Then if you can afford you then invest in stocks or crypto. Usually happens when older

@yuki_toushika Well we also have that...it is called social security. This is 15% of your pay the government takes from all legal jobs. Everyone pays it. Then when you retire you get social security but it's not enough to live on. It's a scam since government uses it for immigrants

@yuki_toushika My brother in law was this type of person. He always saved 15% of wage. He worked at Honda on production line. His wages were good but not great. They managed their life on less money when raising family. Today he is retired at 56 yrs old with plenty of money
