So @barronsonline just needs a “ $NVDA set to trade sideways” article to cover all the possibilities 🙄

Lost a finger last night. the good emergency room at SDSU worked hard to save it. I guess all that’s left is a @polymarket to bet on if the finger can be saved

@anuraggoel Congrats! 🎉 I love to see this as a long time customer of yours. I switched from Heroku to Render in October 2022 & I’ve been very happy with your services.

This chart shows the number of paid services created on @render each week. We're doing alright.

@PJMc84 There's tons of "heroku alternative" startups but I am yet to see one really take migrating a production app away from Heroku with any kind of seriousness.

I’ve got over a billion rows and more data than would fit on my laptop. I can’t just “download the database”. I looked into Heroku alternatives a year ago and it felt like they weren’t ready. If you’re starting out maybe, if you’re porting a production setup, not so much.
Zeke Gabrielse@_m27e

Everybody wants Heroku customers to migrate to them, but nobody wants to put any work into a production-grade migration plan. Everybody's migration docs are a joke for anything that isn't a toy app.

We sat down with @dhh for the latest episode of Next Token and discussed: • Why humans typed 95% of the code for Fizzy • Why "Vibe Coding" drains your competence • The death of the "Blockbuster Launch" • Saving $2M/year leaving the cloud

@p_ch I’m still successfully resisting Docker (for now 😬). I was doing git push to Heroku for many years and 3 years ago switched to Render where I can still deploy via a simple “git push”.

I miss the simplicity and speed of Capistrano deployments in Rails. Juggling hundreds of MB of Docker images per `kamal deploy` feels so wasteful.

On This Week In The Degenerate Economy, I break down why the degenerate economy continues to crush the QQQs, why prediction markets are finally ready for prime time, and how Stocktwits’ new partnership with Polymarket marks a major turning point in event-based betting.

@Shpigford I’ve been very happy with my current setup since leaving Heroku in 2022. Render (better value for the “dynos”) for the app, Crunchy Bridge for PG — db is in the same AWS region. Figured I’d go with a PG specialist so if I ever needed to move app hosts I could keep the Crunchy db

@zilasino Just a couple of days ago I had ChatGPT code up a Stimulus controller that wraps driver.js. I really don’t think a gem is necessary for this kind of thing.

@TraderMike You have to build a record of all the steps you've taken to get them to stop and then sue them, I'm afraid...

. @drjtoney @APS_SPARK @sarapruett5 can you please help me to stop this noise pollution coming from your school every morning at 7:15? I've emailed you. I've walked over twice several months ago to ask in person. Yet this still persists.
