Congratulations to our incredible participants on successfully completing the Advanced Short Course on Advocacy for Reproductive Justice in Africa: Age as a Determinant of SRHR. 🎉 Your active participation, thoughtful reflections, and willingness to share experiences enriched every discussion throughout the course. Together, we explored how age shapes access, power, and lived realities within sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), while strengthening our collective commitment to age-inclusive advocacy and reproductive justice. We are proud of the community of advocates you continue to build across Africa. May the knowledge, skills, and connections gained during this journey support your ongoing efforts to amplify diverse voices and advance equitable SRHR for all ages.✊🏾

The #PrEPRing expands prevention choice, giving women greater autonomy and control over their health. I call upon donors and health policymakers to invest in its rollout as a critical strategy to reduce new HIV infections in Uganda. #ChoiceManifesto

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the National Dialogue on the rollout of new #HIVPrevention technologies and the promotion of choice in Uganda, organized by @ICWEastAfrica. A major highlight was the #PrEPRing a convenient, discreet HIV prevention option for women.

Powerful message. The #PrEPRing represents choice, dignity, and hope for women and girls. Ending HIV means ensuring women have trusted, accessible prevention options that fit their realities. #ChoiceInPrevention
ICWEAAt20@ICWEastAfrica

The #PrEPRing is more than a product, it represents hope & agency for women & girls who deserve prevention options that reflect their realities. If we are serious abt ending HIV, then we must be equally serious abt ensuring that women have real choices they can trust & access.

Days one and two of the Advanced Short Course on Advocacy for Reproductive Justice in Africa: Age as a Determinant of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) focused on understanding how age influences access to sexual and reproductive health and rights across the continent. Participants examined the relationship between SRHR, reproductive justice, and age, while reflecting on how Africentric perspectives can reshape how we understand age, reproduction, and autonomy. The sessions also explored how laws, policies, and power structures affect access to reproductive health services. Discussions considered legal responses to age-based restrictions in SRHR and how age operates as a systemic factor shaping people’s reproductive lives. These conversations are helping participants think more critically about how advocacy, law, and policy can respond to age-related barriers to reproductive justice in Africa.
