@vanillaopinions Those are all good options, but I think Oshkosh deserves the title.

@michigeese Barnes only being at 10% with 61% name ID (roughly double that of Hong and Rodriguez) is pretty weak. I was expecting him to have large lead early on.
English

@LIEngProf @CTDemocrat8 It's not crazy in the slightest. Milwaukee's educated suburbs swung left, while the minorities in Milwaukee proper swung hard right.
English

@CTDemocrat8 Yeah, it’s crazy that she gained in the WOW counties but actually lost ground in Milwaukee itself.
English

While Tammy Baldwin didn’t have as far a fall as Bob Casey, she went from an 11% win in ‘18 to a .85% one in ‘24.
She basically lost ground in every part of the state, but the losses were most pronounced in the Driftless Region.

Nassau Centrist Mapper@LIEngProf
It’s borderline surreal seeing Bob Casey’s widest victory juxtaposed with his narrow loss. In ‘04, he won a whopping 52(!) counties; in ‘24, only 12… What a difference 20 years makes!! 🤯
English

@ZachTGR @michigeese At the moment I'd say he's the favorite. The primary isn't until April, so there's plenty of time of time for that to change.
English

@MassJumbo For whatever reason people love posts that just list the margin of victory for municipalities, especially if it's a big shift. My most liked tweet is one of these for Wauwatosa.
English

@umichvoter So blue, in fact, that it's able to cancel out the votes Republicans get from WI-5.

English

it just radiates blue
Wisconsin would vote be Iowa without it

umichvoter@umichvoter
Madison, Wisconsin has so much aura and it voted 🔵 Harris 142,244 (83%) 🔴 Trump 26,022 (15%)

@SuperiorElliot5 @jwiechers @nikicaga No, there's definitely a zero space joiner there. If you copy and paste what was written and then delete the characters one by one, you'll find that there's an invisible character you'll delete before you delete the @.
English

@jwiechers @nikicaga No I think it used to be tagged, I remember
English

@MassJumbo It looks like the data for 2012 and 2008 was added since I last used DRA. Romney won one of the Harris districts in 2012.

English

@MassJumbo This prompted me to check my Wisconsin ringmander on the 2024 data since that was apparently released. Looks like it failed to maintain its 8-0 streak and Harris carried 2 districts.

@NapervillePol We need to go through Jurassic Solar System, Jurassic Galaxy, Jurassic Cluster, and Jurassic Supercluster first.

#ElectionTwitter Here's a dot map of the 1960 presidential election in Virginia. Nixon won the state by dominating in the Richmond metro area, Roanoke, and the Shenendoah valley while also coming ahead in Fairfax, which allowed him to beat Kennedy's margins in southside VA.

English

@lxeagle17 @kobiasjr That's fair, I agree that it's a a bit too extensive in its current form. But I think that if it is exists, Democrats might as well use it to its fullest extent.
English

@WI_Forward @kobiasjr I agree that the power has been bastardized by the GOP as well and I just have never felt great about our side doing similarly hackish stuff like removing a hyphen instead of stopping it altogether. Just my own views on it, but it doesn't matter now.
English

Definitely don’t feel great about this , even as a liberal.

Breaking: Wisconsin’s governor can lock in a 400-year school funding increase using his uniquely powerful veto, top court says
English

@kobiasjr @lxeagle17 Republicans have already been abusing the line-item veto. Scott Walker used it to turn a 1 year moratorium on schools increasing revenue limits for energy efficiency projects into a 1000 year one and Tommy Thompson abused it so much that an amendment was passed to weaken it.

A quick map comparing Wisconsin and Dane's turnout in this election to the 2024 presidential turnout in every state. Wisconsin as a whole had a higher turnout than 9 states and Dane was higher in an additional 13 states.

Operation Epstein Fury@NapervillePol
Statewide Turnout was 61.7%
English

@NapervillePol Milwaukee Public Schools have had massive financial scandal over the summer of 2024 and the audit of the schools released in February that said the system needed an overhaul. I wouldn't be shocked if this is people lashing out over that.
