NAME THAT YANK! The key to this man’s success was his ability to beat the Braves in the WS with two different teams. This SP won an ERA title but ranked 2nd in CY that season to a dominant BOS pitcher with 7 shutouts. In his 4 years as a Yank this man tossed over 600 innings and had exactly 400 K’s. He is another Alabama native. This is the THIRD PLAYER of this week’s theme. Answers MAY NOT be hidden. No peeking!

Not enough people talk about Derek Jeter • .310/.377/.440 (.817 OPS), 115 OPS+ • 5x World Series Champ with NYY • 5x Gold Glover, 5x Silver Slugger • 71.3 WAR, 14x AS, 1996 AL ROY • 3465 hits (6th in MLB history) • 1408 DP turned by SS (6th) • 4717 times on base (13th) • 1923 runs scored (11th) • 6605 assists by SS (10th) • Averaged 204 hits per 162 • 870 XBH, 1311 RBI, 358 SB • 5.0+ WAR 6x, 3.0+ WAR 14x • Scored at least 100 runs 13x! • Played at least 150 games 13x • RHB-record 8x with 200+ hits • Never played anywhere but SS • Top Similarity Score: Craig Biggio • Captain of the New York Yankees • Named WS MVP in 2000 vs. NYM • Insanely prolific postseason hitter: • 22-11 in postseason series (158 GP) • 200 H, 111 RS, 57 XBH, 61 RBI, 18 SB • .308/.374/.465 postseason slash line • 302 postseason total bases, just nuts • Received 396 / 397 HOF votes in 2020 • Wore one number (#2) his entire career • (Last-ever single-digit Yankees number) • Invented the iconic jump throw vs Fryman • 2nd-most SS games, but 99th in SS errors • Executed "The Flip" in G3 of the 2001 ALDS • Perpetrated "The Dive" vs. BOS in July 2004 • Among players with at least -253 Rfield and 90% of their career appearances at shortstop, Derek Jeter is the all-time leader in Batting Runs by a tremendous margin, the only player to break 300 and 1 of 5 to even reach 200

NAME THAT YANK! This legendary NY LHP was and pitched to a 1.47 ERA with 110 IP in a year where he registered 3rd in CY. Playing for the Yankees at age 46 he was really struggling in his final year where he played for 3 teams for all of which he didn’t do well. 15 games as a Yank. This man was a 2x AS, 2x WS champ and hold the current all time record for most games. Often forgotten he was a Yankee at all, many fans are disgusted by the idea of him in a Yankee uniform. This is the SECOND PLAYER of this week’s theme! Answers MAY NOT be hidden. No peeking!

@td_nash @Dyhard While he only bet on his own team, he did not bet on every game. Did he not bet on certain games because he "knew" something? That's like betting on the other team.

NAME THAT YANK! In his entire career, this man made the playoffs only once, in which he was completely dominant despite it being a losing effort. In a 14 year career entirely as a Yank, this man led the league in H’s 2x, 2B’s 3x consecutively, RBI’s 1x & won himself won Batting Title though he was close to losing it to another Yank that year & almost won another. The 1x MVP won 9 Gold Gloves & 3 SS awards. This is the FIRST PLAYER of this week’s theme. Answers MAY NOT be hidden. No peeking!

NAME THAT YANK! This man had over 300 homers and in his 18 year career he was a Yank for only one. He led the league in walks 3x & OBL 1x, on an MVP caliber season he posted a 1.055 OPS & 176 OPS+ but only came in third in votes. This offensively impressive player earned the nickname after a serial killer.

NAME THAT YANK! In a 8 year career, he was a Yankee for 1 year where he played only 14 games. This LHB was a cousin of a former MVP winning shortstop. He went to Japan to play for the Henshin Tigers after his stint with the Yankees & then came back years later to play for the NYM. In a famous play involving Jeter, a young fan reached over and caused the hit to be ruled a home run, though clearly fan interference, it was done over this outfielder. This is the FINAL PLAYER of this week’s theme. Answers MAY NOT be hidden. Guess the theme below!

@OleTimeHardball ↖️ That guy. It's ben speculated that he played most of his career with a torn ACL after tripping on the drain cover. Can you say "700 plus home runs?"

@BriannaWu I wouldn't have spoken to the front desk. Informing the parent was the right thing to do but once he was fine with the setting then it was on him if his child got hurt.

Ethical question. I was in the hotel gym just now in a dad came in to do weights with two of his children. While he wasn’t paying attention to his son, who was about seven years old, climbed on the treadmill and kept hitting buttons until it was going at 8 miles an hour. Worried he was going to get killed. I warned him to turn it down. He then got back on it and did it again. I ended my workout early and talk to the dad saying I thought that was dangerous and I didn’t want someone a child to get hurt. He said it was fine and he did 8 miles an hour yesterday. At that point, I left and informed the front desk. I said it was their call, but it was my judgment a child could get seriously hurt. Was this the right thing to do?
