@Sflecce @fordnation Wait, isn't the increase in staff due to the full-time rollout of FDK in 2015? You know, the Liberal/Wynne plan that put an ECE in most kindergarten classes?
You wouldn't be taking credit for that now would you? 👀
English

Ontario has more education staff than ever before because we're funding education at the highest level in Ontario history.
More staff. More schools.
That’s how @fordnation is building Ontario.

From @brianlilley: Over last 20 years, school staffing has increased 25% while enrollment remained flat bit.ly/3F2wZ1x #onpoli

@asicosilomu @luvretirement @mattxiv There are skeins of yarn dyed so that the yarn changes colour. But in this lovely blanket, the crocheter had to have switched colours as they crocheted to get such precisely-coloured rows.

Hey education workers, did you know most private sector employees don’t get:
Benefits, pension, paid overtime, more than 2-3 weeks vacation, or more than 3 sick days/year?
That we have ZERO job security? And we are expected to work a full calendar year?

@ripken888905 @Sflecce "My" wildcat strike? I'm not CUPE.
Also, CUPE is in a legal strike position. They started with a no board report and then gave 5 day notice.
English

@OntarioPCCaucus @Sflecce Shame on all of you. You guys really put the CON in CONservatives.
English

Minister @Sflecce and the @OntarioPCCaucus are working diligently to pass the Keeping Students in Class Act.
We are protecting in-class learning for nearly two million students because we believe students belong in the classroom. Share if you agree!
English

NEW: PM Trudeau criticizes Premier Ford's use of the notwithstanding clause to impose a contract on CUPE -- saying it's "wrong" to suspend workers' rights.

@soniahenri1 @ItsElizabethSo But these "office hours" are only for the RCCs...
English

@ItsElizabethSo I hate to love it. I absolutely agree that TDSB needed to either cancel or postpone these reports, OR provide appropriate release. HOWEVER, most of us DO work from home on reports and I feel so much better knowing that I can contact a paid tech to help me instead of my RCC.

@TrusteeMarkP @1t1sAdam @rollforlearning Actually, yes you should.
As a fellow tax payer, I feel that we don't get carte blanche to everything that we help pay for. Duh. Get over yourself; you're not that important.

@thoughtspctrum @JBradshaw01 @NEWSTALK1010 @Sflecce @MooreintheAM If it's such a cushy job and education workers are spoiled, why not apply and try to become one?
There is a shortage and you said you lost your job after all...
English

@JBradshaw01 @NEWSTALK1010 @Sflecce @MooreintheAM I lost my job because of the government regulations. You government workers have no clue what people endured.
You are all spoiled and ignorant to the realities that regular folk went through.
The unions in the Ontario education system are repulsive. Selfish and spoiled.
English

Education Minister @Sflecce tells @MooreintheAM he’s “disappointed” that the union representing education workers threatened a strike vote before the Ontario government even presented a first offer. #onpoli

@jimmyg1964 @crflames This is not an accurate salary grid. Just look up salary grid for an Ontario school board (e.g., TDSB) and you'll see this is complete BS.
English

@ReelGudPro @globalnewsto This is for support staff, not teachers. Their average salary is between 45K-50K I believe.
English

@globalnewsto Avg start rate of 51k and top rate of 94k. Every summer off. I could understand increasing the start rate, and reducing the amount of time it takes to get to top rate. But I wouldn’t go any higher than 100k top rate.
English

Ontario education workers including librarians, custodians and administrative staff are set to start voting today on whether to strike – and their union is recommending they vote yes. trib.al/ugW5SO3

@bogotomorrow @KRaymerBishop I'm jealous that your board lowers cap sizes for splits, because planning for 2 curriculum is definitely more work!
English

@bogotomorrow @KRaymerBishop A 4/5/6 combo sounds like they didn't have enough students of each grade to have their own class, or enough for a 4/5 or a 5/6.
English

@bogotomorrow @KRaymerBishop Split classes don't have lower caps. In fact, some split grades are used by the Ministry to increase cap sizes and have more students in classes with less teachers (3/4 splits in particular).
