The recent refactoring of avante.nvim now provides first-class citizen support for the function calling of Gemini 2.5 Pro. I am currently very happy coding with it.

This is a more elegant and powerful editing mode that will minimize the error rate of editing, while also receiving better code suggestions from Claude! As far as I know, avante.nvim should be the first third-party application to fully support Claude's text editor tool! I feel very honored!

@mattpocockuk Often overlooked aspect I think is that IDEs can offer a much better auto completions because of the types. I also often use types as a reference - I would Cmd+click a function of a library and explore the types of its arguments. Huge time saver!

There's an anti-TypeScript post floating around with lots of the typical criticisms: - "Makes devs too slow" - "Only good for MASSIVE projects" - "Too much boilerplate" Let's bring a bit of positivity. What do you like about TS?
