@elonmusk Even better, what if only landowners voted, as originally prescribed in the Constitution?

@SomeUKTeslaGuy @Erdayastronaut Highly unlikely because all the plumbing and the engines are different, they would like to verify a successful ignition of the landing burn without risking the tower

@Erdayastronaut Is it known how different the parameters, etc, are for V3 vs V2? Is it possible they go for a catch at the first flight if all the numbers look good?

Look at how close to the edges of the chopsticks the new booster is on Pad 2! I guess they sure have confidence in their landing accuracy! That's wild!

@Erdayastronaut Seems like there is space to get a little closer to the tower for landing, but they positioned the launch mount as far away as practical to limit damage to the tower on liftoff

@FelixSchlang Did they do the water bag tests on the pad 2 chopsticks? I don't remember seeing it.

@SenKatieBritt @NASA @NASA_Marshall He basically announced the beginning of the end of SLS by saying that they would not bother to made hardware upgrades for the remaining planned SLS missions. Their contractors pushed their luck too far wasting our time and money, and they're going to get dumped from Artemis.

@JeffThomas_86 @FelixSchlang They can certainly take it up to orbit and then de-orbit for a splashdown on the second one, but I think they will verify the ability to re-light Raptor 3 in space in a suborbital test on Flight 12

@FelixSchlang It will also need to re-enter from obital speed, so hopefully they will actually get a ship to orbital velocity within the next couple of test flights. Exciting time ahead I am sure

Wow. I absolutely LOVE Elon's point about acronyms. When I was in communications and moved from the non-profit sector into tech, it took me at least a month to learn a whole new language. I'm far from being an idiot, but people were throwing so many acronyms and abbreviations at me I thought I'd landed on a different planet. Even today when I scroll through X, I regularly have to ask Grok what three or four letter abbreviations stand for, and it drives me batty.

For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years. The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars. It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city. That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.

@Cryptorockstar @elonmusk That's what worries me. Elon Musk was our only hope for getting to Mars anytime soon. If he puts it on the back burner, he will probably die before he accomplishes his life's work.

@elonmusk Breaking: SpaceX just yeeted the entire Mars timeline into the shadow realm because the Moon said “you can literally drive there in 2 days, bro why are we waiting 26 months like it’s Comcast installation

@DimaZeniuk @elonmusk I never understood why they wanted to choose Mars as the first planet. The moon was always a more realistic starting point.

@elonmusk This has always felt like the smartest play to me. Using the resources on the moon that are already outside Earth’s gravity well makes the rest of the solar system much more accessible.
