As we all know from elementary school physics class, metal is an excellent even phenomenal heat conductor. Which is why it is absolutely the worst possible roofing material in hot climates. You need extraordinary insulation to keep the heat from transferring to the interior of the building on a hot tropical day. On the other hand, as we all know from sitting in grass as toddlers, grass is exceptionally bad at heat conduction. Which is why indigenous people and intelligent people since time immemorial had built thatched roof in hot tropical climates. You won't need any insulation at all. Compared, a corrugated roof is between 800 and 1,000 times as heat conductive as a thatched roof. That is no laughing matter or trivial difference. Thatch is also immune to hurricanes and storms and winds, and actually quite literally grows on trees (or on the ground), costs nothing to make, requires no energy is so clean you can compost it (and you should, free fertilizer) when it has served its lifetime. Corrugated iron is imported at great costs and become lethal flying missiles in even moderate wind if not constantly maintained. So we, intelligent beings we are, know what to use right?
