NDSU to FBS thoughts -As a player from the FCS era, it's bittersweet to see it end -Its time for a new challenge -I will miss the Dakota school rivalries -The fanbase needs a rejuvenation, FBS will do that -I'll be bummed if I never get to call another game. -I'm still excited

@ToddFuhrman You're not being elitist necessarily, it's common sense that USF wouldn't pull big ratings. But GT is a ratings powerhouse, 8.47m vs UGA last year, 5.5m vs UGA in 2023, several strong games this year, too. Game would be about like PSU-SMU last year.

The CFP Committee has hit on my Strength of Schedule soap box - it can mean VERY different things based on what formula you choose: The problem with SOS is that there is no one-size-fits-all way to calculate what a hard schedule is. Which is harder? - Playing 10 high schools and the '85 Bears twice? - Playing 2024 Georgia 6 times and Charlotte 6 times? - Playing Wake Forest 12 times? The first of those is very easy to go 10-2, impossible to go 12-0. The second is easy to go 6-6, very hard to go 9-3. The third is relatively hard to go 6-6, but manageable for an elite to go 12-0. Sagarin measures the difficulty of making a bowl, so it will actually rank the Wake Forest schedule as the hardest of the three. FPI measures the number of expected losses, so it ends up being something of a hybrid. FEI has three metrics for what is hard for elite, good, and average teams, that does the best job IMO of showing that hard schedule for an elite to go 12-0 might be relatively easy for an average team to go 6-6. If the committee isn't educated on the above, and doesn't know which they're using, they'll be apt to use it wrong. And I HATE that they aren't disclosing what particular metric they're applying - it should be public.
